I’m kenzo digital I’m a director and
artist I’m really passionate about how
technology and creativity merge I’m a
firm believer that different mediums are
best for different kinds of storytelling
I’ve had the great fortune of
collaborating with some of the biggest
you know music stars I’ve had some
really tremendous influences in my life
that I think helped me pick kind of a
independent or my own path my
grandfather’s brother my great-uncle at
the great fortune of you know growing up
around him yet this exhibit at the
Whitney and like I don’t know that early
or mid 80s and I remember I walked into
this foyer and almost and I was immersed
in this 360 degree room filled with
hundreds of monitors and TV screens of
various scales and it was this like
cacophonous mind-bending insane
experience that to me really broadened
my scope of thinking in terms of you
know what are the tools what aren’t
artists tools I got access to a computer
that had photoshop in my high school and
I used to always draw on paint and and
then I started using essentially digital
tools for like a lot of graffiti and to
me the ability to use technology to
create multiple variations of like a
graffiti piece or like a drawing you
know I was able to render different
iterations really quickly I was able to
kind of like perfect and continually
build and and create variations in ways
that you could never do you know just
with pen and paper I think any creative
process is about embracing chaos it’s
more like surfing and less like
sculpting there’s like ebbs and flows of
momentum and it’s about saving your
strength when you when the momentum is
working against you and we’re fully
utilizing your strength when the
momentum working in your favor I find so
much inspiration in the exploration of
what goes into doing something the first
time there’s something that happened in
the very beginning that gave
you the courage and the insight and the
confidence to take the first step and
that’s never changed your gut is always
right so if you trust your instincts and
