Joe Doyle on Playing Judas | Killing Jesus

so Judas Iscariot in this some in his
story he’s some he’s described with the
court for this role I I did try and keep
his cleanest late as possible so didn’t
watch anything previously filmed about
it because each each take on it was very
different I share your anger rather let
me follow me I read as much historical
facts and text that I could when I read
this first I kind of wanted to a service
there clear for the normal perception of
Judas which is essentially just a bad
going to stir betrayer also I think it
was funny was one of the best best ones
let’s hear it has a lot of subtlety to
it and there’s a lot of vulnerability to
do this kind of naivety as well which is
for me what’s what eventually led him to
led him to be he swayed and be be
tempted by money to eventually betrayed
years to me seaman Lisa kind of a young
led fits this essentially just just
wants to believe in things I mean wants
to join these it just as you can easily
swayed in there one persuaded by other
things Judas Iscariot the tax collector
a chef who works with tech truck lures
him into the fullness of a horse and a
fine a fine beast and money to buy that
horse wave and that sound it’s a kind of
an alternative to to basically dying
with the rest of it aside was the way
that I read it for the way that I kind
of wanted to angle it was that he’s much
so but it’s a little sensitive side to
it so wasn’t all out a betray or a
villain you know it’s commonly perceived
I want that run just Alok
we wanted to get a kind of very raw take
on things and and for it to be real
because it was in the Sun as far back as
a hundred years ago times were much more
brutal so this is um it’s kind of deals
with everything there’s got a bit of
everything for everybody
