hello my name is Ken
I’m the winner for the Indiana State
Geography Bee and I
received notre-dame which is one of the
most famous landmarks in the city of
South been to Ireland South Bend is in
the very northern part of Indiana it’s
so close to Michigan that off of my
family and I can ride bikes over the
state line into mission and the area was
settled in the 1860s by first writers
coming here and then it is also known
for the Studebaker factory which once
out of business in the 1960s and now
it’s known mostly for education in
health care and those kind of service
Sultan is the fourth largest city in
Indiana and during its early days
attracted a lot of Polish immigrants
which explains why its sister city is
just a co-op and Poland you can see that
we’re very close to the lake michigan
which means you get a lot of like effect
snow and whether it’s often very nice
here but often it’s also raining which
is why i’m in the basement showing you
sending yourself but not a meth and not
upside showing you the actual city if i
could go anywhere in the world I believe
I’d go to Rome because there’s so much
history there and then I’d visit visit
the Vatican because I’d love to see the
tomb of st. peter and the Vatican Secret
Archives because there’s so much history
down there and there’s a lot of
religious significance still for me as a
Catholic my favorite world leader is
Margaret Thatcher but i’m not sure if
i’d actually switch places with her
because she seems to have found a very
admirable job helping to bring down the
soviet union without an 8th grader from
indiana trying to steal her job so i
think that probably switched places with
the Prime Minister of Tuvalu or
someplace like that because there aren’t
a lot of things to take care of and I
could just lie around and pretty much do
what I wanted ok here’s an e Jagger
feedback let me show you the map and
lake here on there’s an island called
minute to an island and inside I’m
Antonin does a like home like Manitou
and it’s the largest lake in a
freshwater island in the world and then
there’s another option is another lake
called Lake Minn de moya and in segments
de moya is Treasure Island and that is
the largest island and alike on and on
and elec and all these islands and legs
are about 11 and half hours northeast of
where I’m
administration building at the
University of Notre Dame it’s one of the
golden dome on top the era seen pictures
and I’m down by the murals of life of
Columbus these are beautiful historic
murals and buildings especially known
for these works of art scattered well
I’ve always really been interested in
geography since I was little my family
and I used to play this game called
state cookies where we would have to
bite off a piece of each cookie or a
piece of each ship and then see what
state it looked like that was always fun
for me and later I heard that there was
a geography competition and so I took
part in that from fourth grade and fifth
grade in sixth grade I won it in six
going went to the Indiana State be and
then I just started really getting
excited about doing well in it and I’ve
always really liked news I like to read
newspapers I read The Wall Street
Journal and I really like the idea of
wondering how people interact and how
they affect each other and geography
answer some of those questions so it’s
okay since I really like it when I grow
up I think that I might like to be a
medieval historian because it combines
blobs of three subjects and I really
enjoy Latin history and literature I
love history because it I just really
like to learn about the past that’s one
of reasons I like geography so much as
it connects to history and then I’ve
always really enjoyed literature
especially the more anxious literature
and then I love life
taking Latin for about five years I’m
teaching in Latin literature class this
year we actually read the documents in
Latin which I really enjoy and medieval
history has a lot to do with that
