were immediately sent to ballistics

forensic ly that this gun fired 50
rounds that day and this gun fired 20
rounds these are the two machine guns
that were used in the st. Valentine’s
Day Massacre February 14 1929 since the
day they were found the guns have been
in the possession of the Berrien County
Sheriff’s Department the killers had
thought they had made the guns
unidentifiable they hadn’t planned but

off of it it was basically what you
would refer to as a Throwdown gun they
would leave it if things were hot and
they had to leave something at the scene
the serial numbers were ground off it
couldn’t be traced this one Goddard was
able to pour acid on it was a technique
that was used to bring the numbers
ghosts the numbers back to the surface
Goddard’s ballistics tests prove not
only that bullets found at the crime
scene were fired from the weapons but
the rate of fire was so fast it would
have been impossible for any of the
victims to turn react to the gunfire and
try to protect themselves
