Frozen Turkey | National Geographic

I’m off to the best meat Shack in town
where I’ve asked Kevin the king of the
grill to help me out I’ve got an idea
that could revolutionize the food
industry by getting raw meat from frozen
to perfectly cooked in an instant listen
I’ve got a dilemma so I want to talk to
you about right I need to pick to the
seat okay right you’re cooking for your
missus you’re cooking for your girl all
right it’s one of those things where the
guy said tonight I’m gonna cook you a
beautiful meal that’s all going to sort
it look what would you cook I’m gonna
cook up some turkey collard greens
candied yams you know what I’m saying I
like this mac and cheese rice good rolls
Roberts gone wrong I want you to imagine
this turkey is still in the freezer
you’ve got this frozen turkey you want
to cook the turkey it’s in the freezer
how longs it take to cook the turkey
you’re the expert I’m about four hours
from frozen to fry check this out okay
four hours that would leave me seriously
hungry I haven’t got time for that
I reckon I can do it much quicker to
prove it I’m gonna take a frozen ten
pound turkey and try and cook it in a
matter of seconds and this is where it
starts to get serious I’ve heated up my
oil prepared my frozen turkey and I’ve
got a fire engine on standby just in
case it all goes wrong right
everything’s in place and we are most
definitely creating a scene here couple
of girls have popped out from the
kitchen to see what’s going on that is
what you call 30 gallons of peanut oil
in a drum rolling in at 460 degrees
Fahrenheit
right what we’re gonna do is get a
turkey and lower the turkey down on a
wire into that oil what’s it gonna do I
think crispy to perfection
Kelly’s oh yeah boom boom right so we
find out you guys pull up over there all
right safe minimum distance okay I’ll
see you in a minute
so what will happen when the turkey hits
the burning hot oil will it be cooked to
perfection blow up but but raw in the
middle or none of the above
you
