Deconstructing the Barn | Building Wild

we’re deconstructing the barn at the
bottom of the mountain to convert it
into a cabin for the dirty does that
close all right guys we have a new
project yes follow me there’s some work
we need to do to these old beams and old
boards before we use them on the new
cabin we have to go through and D mail
them take every single nail out by hand
well the gentleman said that these nails
were probably around pre 1853 1853 1850
nails are so valued back in the day that
they would burn a house down and pick
the nails out of the ashes and take the
nails with him to build their next house
right well cuz wood was ready available
what is everywhere no they’re not save
the nails right
I think you’re clear and what about this
roller that’s the only thing in the barn
it actually means something to me hey
we’re gonna grab this thing this is very
important to us all right
this wood unless we found the button
they used to use this as a pulley system
to hoist livestock back up in the day
you don’t find them very often so we’re
really hoping Paulie and Tuffy can do
something within the new cabin hate to
see it go to waste
walking out the door and down to where
the blue tarps are that starts our pile
of good stuff all right Mike yep we got
a lot to do today number one we got to
get this barn torn down and we have to
do it gently I want to save as much of
this point as I possibly can it’s a
great idea of salvaging a barn but we
have a week time limit here we have to
we have to you know things gotta happen
happen happen
