Cutting Open a Plasma TV | I Didn’t Know That

plasma TV sets are a few centimetres
thick display very bright and sharp
images and are quickly replacing bulky
old-style TVs the biggest plasma TV set
in the world is a whopping 103 inch
model blimey that’s taller than me let’s
get cutting
the first plasma screen was invented at
the University of Illinois in 1964 it
displayed very clear pictures but with
just the color blue it took another 35
years for full-color sets to be
developed
so what’s inside well this is the plasma
layer is made up of over a million cells
containing neon and xenon gases
sandwiched between two layers of glass
when electricity excites the gases in
the plasma layer atoms release energy
creating coloured light which forms the
TV picture I always wanted to get to you
