CT Finalist | National Geographic Bee 2012

hi I’m Michael Voris winners of 2011 and
2012 Medicaid state Geography Bee
welcome to my home town of Darien
Connecticut let’s get started
welcome to Woodland Park one of Darien’s
two stunning nature reserves it lives up
to its name with its vast for it if
someone gave you a free ticket to travel
anywhere in the world where would you go
I would go to Australia so I could see
sights in Sydney such as the Sydney
Opera House as well as kakadu national
park and eluru in Australia’s Northern
Territory I would also go to see
everything else Australia has to offer
their three-point beach is a great place
to go swimming or boating the two main
water activities and darienne let’s say
you can trade places with any famous
explorer or world leader who would you
pick and why I would pick Marco Polo
because he was able to visit Imperial
China for many years which no other
Explorer was ever able to do what do you
want to be or do when you’re in a doubt
and why I don’t know and I five years
figured out so what’s the rush at
cherrywood Park their playground for the
younger kids for seals for the older
kids nature trails and a Nature Center
with many different animals hey nat geo
judy know what island is the least
densely populated inhabited island in
the world you stumped the answer is
ellesmere island in canada with the
population of 146 people income forcing
an area of 75,000 square miles for a
population density of 200 of a person
per square mile
velux Woods is a beautiful 58 to nature
reserve right outside of downtown
darienne which might be one of the
town’s best kept secret I personally
never knew they existed until two or
three years ago there are a lot of stone
walls here which garyun farmers used to
use to mark their barn Stanley you so
much all the information and knowledge
into your brain what’s the secret I have
a little chip in my head that gives me
all the answers by a reprogram it last
year after I lost in reality though I
studied with my coach school librarian
after school three or four times a week
as well as on my own taking out some
various countries as well as world
leaders current event as we put you in
charge of the earth for an entire day
what’s the very first problem or issue
you with tackle I would tackle global
warming by making such as lower their
carbon emissions and I hope you’re
listening to this guy not because you’re
the biggest offender thank you for
watching this video and thank you to the
National Geographic Society for making
this all possible I hope you enjoyed the
film
