fifteen hundred feet above the earth
trooper Josh Benz is on his way to the
small fishing village of Angoon to track
down a rogue squatter we have a subject
that has been causing some disturbances
lately squatting at various properties
around town he made a threat to the
store owner yesterday that he was going
to kill him
the school was on lockdown yesterday the
store was on lockdown
so people are pretty freaked out and
goon is a small native community of four
hundred and forty people on the edge of
17 million acres of rugged Island
wilderness and not the easiest place in
the world to get to I’m not sure exactly
what brought him to Angoon these small
villages and towns in Alaska are great
places for people to try to start over
who knows what they’re trying to escape
from down south whether it be debt or
family issues or criminal prosecution
there’s a lot of different reasons
people end up up here
Bent’s joins forces with village Public
Safety Officer Charlie Hartzell who’s
already had run-ins with the man he you
showed up approximately two weeks ago I
like to make contact with new
individuals that come into the community
just to kind of get a feel for him there
was some off-kilter stuff that he was
saying that was not normal behavior the
rumor mill was that this guy was out to
kill people and that’s not all he’s 65
380 pounds if we need to take him
hopefully we can do it without an
incident but if he does go sideways
we’re just gonna have to roll with the
punches troopers head to his last known
whereabouts a makeshift camp in the
woods outside of town
just the trail rare
state troopers hello
talk to me
