Can You Spot the Gecko? | National Geographic

Geko number one is the Madagascar day
gecko here in the forests of Madagascar
most geckos like insects so why is this
gecko giving a free pass to these
feathery tail flatted bugs maybe what
the buds produced tastes better than the
bugs themselves the flooded bugs suck
the SAP from plants and turn it into a
sugary honeydew to ants this is manna
from heaven the Madagascar day gecko
finds the squid stash and like the ants
laps it out for dessert
well if the honeydew is sweet and the
ants need to do what the heck gecko
number two is where is gecko number two
it was here just a second ago
[Music]
believe it or not what is hiding right
here in plain sight is a leaf-tailed
gecko this nocturnal species of gecko is
able to camouflage itself to blend in
with tree burn as well as Mawson like
modified scales on sides form a bark
like rich even sharp eyed hawks and
mongooses can’t spot these geckos until
they move from big echoes to night
geckos being in Madagascar is gecko
heaven 24/7
