Camera Trap Captures Surprise Treetop Proposal | National Geographic

so I was down in Panama doing research
in the canopy of the rainforests I knew
that my boyfriend Dan was coming to
visit me in a couple weeks so I was
actually really excited

and I called him up and I told him that
he would not only be able to visit me
but he would be able to climb up into
the tree with me and I stopped for a
second I said wait really he got so
excited I was still he like started
crying a little bit I knew that was the
moment that I had to propose long story
short is that I get down to Panama he
picked out a tree and he was going to
take ya in order to get both of us up
there I had to climb up the tree set his
rope and while I was up there I set up
one of my camera traps
he was really lingering up there for a
while and I thought gosh what’s taking
him so long finally we start going up
and it was just like such a magical
moment it was a really really tall tree
so once you got up there you could see
all the way around you just as I was
about to go into my little proposal it
was like okay this is it this is gonna
be the moment he surprised me and
started proposing to me first you know
ask him if he wouldn’t like to adventure
for the rest of our lives together kind
of thing I definitely didn’t think he
was he was going to propose up there at
the same time but you know I really kept
kept my composure and just let him go
ahead and he said of course and then he
was like and as a matter of fact I also
have something to ask you
and I was like can you do gave him my
little speech and there we early that’s
where we got engaged
