the position and shape of the muzzle as
opening our eyes to the fact that there
were dinosaurs that were in essence
Mesozoic cows we think about cows and
animals that graze today mammals as the
animals that naturally fulfil this niche
it’s a decade’s worth of work and when
you put the animal together you want it
to be beautiful as well as accurate
the bones sort of got dispersed in a
field of fossils and we’re not sure
which belongs to this animal so we’re
not willing to say further it is like
nothing else that have been discovered
I made a design of the animal in my mind
after I worked up all the lengths of all
these bones and I would have the fossils
in front of me I worked up a scheme for
this dinosaur in lateral view and in
dorsal view and what I wanted to show
was something about I wanted the bones
to speak to tell me something about its
life even though it’s not going to move
channel goes off that way and it sort of
snaps back so wanna create some movement
and there’s a little bit more involved
than just movement and expression in
putting this together and when
four-legged animals walk particular
limbs also move in particular ways so I
gave them a map and I gave him a height
and I gave them the directions and they
did an incredible job
