I think the conversation that happens
through a table and through food it’s
very powerful sometimes foot is the
reason of why we sit together but also
is the excuse of what we sit together
and I believe is an important moment in
in who we are as a human specie one
thing that we have a tendency especially
in the United States to forget is that
the best times in your life are actually
around a table and we somehow have
pushed the table out of the center of
American society and one thing that we
kind of talked about is that we need to
bring it back if you want to be happy as
a human being and you are not with
people at a table you you really can’t
be happy well that’s where happiness
comes from and so food and drink are the
binders and the table is like a symbol
yo of that and in in that you know what
the Italian grandmother might always
tell you is certainly true food is love
drinks are love you know they are
symbolic of everything that we actually
want I think when you’re sitting at
table you’re really without realizing
you are sharing the hard work that your
family put in bringing that food to you
in the hard work that the farmer put to
ring those vegetables to you and they
hard work that a fisherman put to bring
that fish to you and the moment of
sitting at the table is summer like
during a temple and you don’t realize
but you’re celebrating the hardships
that many people before you have to go
through in order for you to be feeling
not only your body but your so and this
is this sacred moment that we don’t
realize times that’s the meaning of
sitting to eat a relative sit down
family meals have certainly been on the
decline in American culture a lot of
which is due to you have dual working
families and you don’t have the time or
the
to put into cooking a meal or gathering
around a table with busy schedules I
understand that however the family
dinner table is probably the most
important aspect of our culture that we
still have access to we have we no
longer have the church or the town hall
or you know these opportunities to
really interact to share ideas to grow
to learn and to evolve together as a
community the family table is the last
bastion of the great power we have to be
united as a people
