Apollo Robbins on Fear | Brain Games

there’s a common denominator I think
between magic fear and humor in that for
all of them to be successful if you know
the punchline for a joke before it’s
coming it doesn’t work meaning you have
to have layers of deception in order to
make it funny same thing for magic if
you know the secret is not astonishing
and for fear if you’re expecting it to
happen sometimes it’s not scary
so here whole doctrine hey it works the
same with anybody won’t try one more
thing with you just because you sit here
a little nervous I won’t kind of test
that out close your hand contact all
except for this finger I’m trying to
catch just for the pinkie he’s got to
prep himself you know right here this is
an interesting one have you ever seen
this before if you pull on these two
cords right here what’s gonna happen if
I tug on these it can break a finger it
just depends on how hard you pull if I
can determine how someone is scared or
fearful of a subject that may not as be
as obvious most people would think you
might not be a knife for a broken glass
it might be an ideology it might be a
concept that they’re scared of it makes
them tense they used to use this to test
to see if people were witches and things
like that I’m up pool and what your
likes do you feel comfortable right now
are you good yeah little nervous at all
you don’t use your hands for your work
do you okay you Jam your fingers all
right
oh the jams your finger Ben are you okay
right on Katherine one two still cold
good job man yeah I know they’ll
navigate away from their natural fear so
their natural dispositions because of an
ideology that they adopt and then I can
navigate them to another area so I can
use fear to influence them if I code it
and hide it well
you
