John the Baptist was actually Jesus’s
cousin he baptized people to wash away
their sins but when he met Jesus he
actually wanted Jesus to baptize him
because he knew the son of God so it is
quite a pivotal character in the story
of Jesus I guess the first spark the
Jesus cousin in the desert
I found communion with our Lord I didn’t
know a lot about John the Baptist I
heard of him and you know didn’t really
investigate anything before doing this
project and when I was auditioning for
it I was reading about him and it’s such
an extraordinary interesting character
he basically went off into the
wilderness and through kind of solitary
contemplation got connected to God and
saw the coming of Jesus and wanted to
spread that word and then eventually he
was what he was saying was against the
establishment and against the temple
priests and that got him to very sort of
torch for death he had such strong will
and believed in what he was experiencing
and wanted to change things
and eventually I think he knew that his
his death was coming and he kind of had
no fear because he believed researching
it you know there’s a lot on him and lot
to read and you know it’s quite
fascinating I actually read like Henry
David Thoreau’s Walden because I kind of
felt that he he had like this
relationship with being solitary in
nature which gave him that experience
that kind of self realization that there
is something other what is prophesied
cannot be denied the cut will be raised
to your lips Jesus and I think just like
Jesus just like the Buddha just like
Muhammad he had the ability to cut the
tie of attachment from obstacles you
know that around you and that gave him
the strength of the will and conviction
to believe in what he was saying and
that things need to change he was ahead
of his time just like Jesus you know and
just like a lot of people that are ahead
of their time and are outspoken about it
he came to the faithful end
