thought that you can build an empire but
if you put your mind to it
and push for to push for to keep no

if you believe in and you got to follow
their dreaming a hard man because if I
didn’t that wouldn’t be in any strange
music to come to any interview in
because I followed my dream after
everybody knocked me down you have to
push forward if you believe in it you
will achieve in it just gotta keep

Morris asked me once you write something
and rap instead of spitting on everybody
and I wrote it and everybody liked it
and I started doing it more and then I
finally won a contest first thing I’ve
ever won of my life the thing I one fell
on my graduation day so I chose to open
up for EPMD and kwame in all those
people at Kemper Arena in Kansas City
Missouri rather than walk across the
stage right up the street where all my
partners were graduating and that’s when
I knew what I was gonna do for the rest
of my life you know your graduation days
you get your diploma and you choose
something else and then you end up doing
what you do which you planned on doing
and you’re young and it’s not written in
blood that you’re gonna make it and you
you move from house to house because you
run away from home at 17 you move from
place to place with family members and
friends and everything trying to do
music and then you end up doing it then
you end up on the Forbes list and
working with all the people that
inspired you like ice cube and the the
doors and Roger Troutman and you know
it’s wonderful you know I’m saying so
that was the most monumental to me you
know I write my life I’m not like a lot
of rappers you know I’m sand or write
what’s what they think it’s hot or now
all right what’s happening in my life
whether it’s partying
whether it’s sorrowful whether it’s
confused you know what I mean I’ll write
that and with that being said what
inspires me and it says either reading
something
or having something happen to me that’s
why I don’t believe in writer’s block
I mean only thing I believe in a style

narcissistic it’s hard to grip it to the

ball but the our script is hard to
perfect yes but I would have been a
better market it’s good enough that any

but writer’s block knows ever my very
first album in 96 was the calm before
the storm so I knew 20 years later if I
named this album the storm was gonna
push me to do the best music I could
possibly do and I did it and I know I’m

but it’s real what makes you say that um
because I’m always feeling like I have a
chip on my shoulder enough to prove
myself because I’m the weird kid you

look different I paint my face this that

through for me that I’ve been working
wanting to work with for over a decade
and you have to take the beat to these
people and the thought like you have to
give them something that they really
like I had to play that for Corey Taylor
backstage at a arena you know while
you’re playing it are you like watching
their facial expressions to see if
they’re whether are you looking down or
well I’m at a point my
well I know the stove yes so I’m playing
it for them like smile and you’re like
you know and they list it to me and you
know they hear some my legs and they
start smiling and I start smelling some
more and then they’ll and then Cory
Taylor are like okay whatever you’re
like woah oh yes you know says so it’s
just it feels wonderful to work with
people that you’ve been listening to for
over a decade and being right there with
them and they with you all the way man
