bet on yourself you have to bet on
yourself first before you can expect
anybody else to believe when you and bet
on you one of my favorite stories is
from Lucille Ball she is a founder I
Love Lucy totally changed the way TV was
done and built one of the most
successful TV franchises of all time
when she approached CBS with the idea
for I Love Lucy she wanted to cast her
real-life husband Desi Arnaz as her
husband on the show and CBS said no way
this isn’t going to work because he’s
Cuban Americans won’t accept the cuban
guy as a head of a household and they
shut her down and that could have been
the end of the idea for her right that’s
where a lot of people may quit they may
say you know what he was my chance he
was that a huge TV company I took my
shot it didn’t work so I’m just going to
be an actor but she said no i am going
to bet on myself and she took the money
from her own personal funds and she cast
and created the first pilot for I Love
Lucy all by herself and this is what was
really exciting about it because now she
created her own pilot she created her
own show that she owned the rights to
and then she sold to CBS were most
people this was totally not common
practice most people were just actors
you got paid a salary you worked for CBS
and Lucille Ball said forget that if I’m
spending the money to create my own
program I’m going to own it and I’m
going to license it and sell it to you
and it made her a multi-millionaire and
made her an iconic TV star and made her
a massive innovator in the industry
because she bet on herself when nobody
else would you have to believe in
yourself and take the bet to know that
you have something great and it will
work and until you bet on yourself and
believe in yourself nobody’s going to do
it for you
