I learned something that would change
the course of my life forever I don’t
talk about this often it was all a dream
let me tell you about this dream that I
had was crazy dreamers ten years ago
I decided to run the New York City
Marathon I had to finish the whole thing
I had to finish the entire race
now the marathon is 26.2 miles nobody
believed I were finished everybody
thought I was crazy but there was
something in me that just wouldn’t
listen to I made a decision I was going
to see that decision
so I was pushing my way to the front of
the line cuz I feel like nobody’s gonna
take you into the front of the line
I had to make a decision like then I had
to decide whether I was gonna stay on my
knees or get up on my feet I had to
decide to get up I had to decide to run
my toenails started falling off my
sneakers were soaked in blood Real Talk
I’m not being dramatic
but I decided I was gonna finish that
marathon either I was going sick
give up while I was going to make a
decision to step out of the docks you
see when you’re in that darkness
you want to sit there wait for the light
to come
we’re an adult feels uncomfortable

only way out is to step forward to face
your bids to become your own life you
cannot achieve success without failure
maybe there were times that you didn’t
have
or not

you will change the world
I want you to take the craziest dream
you ever had that dream that you were
too embarrassed to tell anyone that I
want you to go out there I want you to
make it a reality I don’t want you to
dream I want you to do now some of your
dreams are gonna take long
for a lot of people the distance between
their dreams and their reality is
intimidating and they get stuck they get
paralyzed just like I was in at America
the only way forward is to be real about
what it’s going to take you to achieve
those dreamers you have to be honest
which
tell yourself the truth booth is gone
too
it doesn’t come easy you want God
nobody’s gonna give you none there’s no
rescue team coming no National Guard no
aid coming nothing you won’t have to go
the only way forward is to decide that
you want that tree so bad that you are
going to work harder you’re gonna get up
earlier you want to stay later you’re
gonna push past the people who doubted
you and laugh that you hated on you I
had to make a decision I had to decide
to become my own life I had to believe
in myself like never before I had to
find my inner power now I’m not gonna
lie to you it’s gonna be a lot of times
all about to fail
I’m still failing every day yeah we are
all a work in progress and one day
you’ll be sitting in the dark like hours

within that moment I want you to
remember the power of
I want you to be fearless I want you to
be decisive I want you to make a
decision right now that when you fail
and you fall to your knees I want you to
remember the power of you and I want you
to get back up on your feet make a
decision today that when you’re in the
darkness you’ll remember the power of
you you are your own light don’t you to
never be afraid to make a decision be
decisive don’t be afraid to fail be
fearless do you know how powerful you
because if you don’t know I’m gonna tell

you are the most powerful generation
this world has ever seen
don’t be afraid to close your eyes and dream but then open your eyes
