ok welcome everybody I’m here with Alex
you and Jason and today we are going to
learn how to make a paper airplane with
origami alex is an expert this is what
he’s created he’s got some awesome
designs that he’s going to do another
one later on but the orange plane is my
logo and I met Alex at an event here in
Toronto and I said you gotta come and
teach me how to do a people are playing
in Oregon so this is what we’re all here
to learn and hopefully we can pick it up
quickly I have a bit of a sprained wrist
from snowboarding and Alex as long as
you can move your fingers we can do this
so nine so we’ll see how it goes first

I’m Alex I’m a healer an origami artists
it’s my passion to create things from
papers so I’m just here to share
something teaching on how to create this
planning okay here we go so we all have
how big is this thing is it’s just a and
a half inch and a half first of all we
have the square here and fold it in half
edge to edge into a rectangle
as you see we just made please here
rotate the papers increase in spherical
hold it edge to edge again into a tight
angle now I’ll bring your lower right
corner point it to this crease here the
question is a half way like like we’re
on discrete um but if you want from the
internet for Nia to it first and our
show later okay right there yes and then
looking at the top right corner you want
you make sure this corner is sharp ah
that’s funny trotline this yah haha yeah
I’m think I said right yeah okay oh
that’s that’s precise man no I was
stressed out over getting my corner
exact here Rosie distress as lousy
father plan which is your precreasing
it’d be funny there we go everybody the
corner is the reference point that’s how
you know where to for once we’ve got
that we finish so repeat the same
process on the left hand side so the
lower left corner raise it up and
pointing to the horizontal face once you
point it there match up on the top left
corner making sure that shot this is
probably trickiest part are clean I kept
it very clean and simple but design
because the logo is very clean and
bright give are very free feel so now it
is exactly so good autumn is an art form
combine with Max a very personal thing
so as you can see we just made
through an intersection crease yeah and
looking at the bottom part i want you to
fold this part of because the mark is
where the crease crost uh-huh for that
part up so the result would eat these
two please we’re matching up if it
through these are like each uses to it
they are they pushing into it yes feel
like my creases are over the years I
read some article on how how your
fingers or nerve endings and by folding
it with your nails just after
stimulating certain bring variant room
when we folded the nails yeah oh my i
missed that part so i’ll fold the lower
right edge matching up with this piece
here fold it straight to that crease
this won’t quite an angle bisector make
the value that and go into providing
this this angle even if you have a
straight point at the end there extra
point bottom so oh the other side arms
why behind here man insider nitration
not risk on the right hand side this
fall flat just fold it into the sector
flip it over a good-looking plane so far
it’s right clean yeah it’s nice i like
it for the whole thing in half like
you’re closing a book as always I my
student should you do clashes I do um I
teach at UCT libraries birthday parties
weddings this weekend teaching at the
Market Village Mall in Markham for
trying to scam you oh cool it’s pretty
cool yeah it’s the year of the white

angle well hold on I want to I want to
ask is it more to one side or the other
um well I see and I have like a thin
yeah this is what former stuff under
side plane so we do more like a mechanic
w/e 10 is it Diana we got that’s it we
want to erase her our way nice 20 50 um
so you can rise yeah class and Graham my
planes arrive i would say 170 degree in
hawaii different scale of wind length
versus a body but different effects on
the aerodynamics oh I’m figure out
exactly know yet
door okay so I had like a huge body no
no yes replica slimline yeah slimline
body it’s not good Oh yours is yours is
pretty big but mine is like uses pretty
big my breasts I don’t wanna feel bad
mine’s like a dark looking over the
instruction for holding the plane is
folded see this part sticker right so
wonderful day arrived let the thing part
when you throw you might stop it I love
spicy pepper angle not grammar I just
okay huh alex is going to demo the
proper way to throw and then Jason I are
gonna face off the sea who made the
better people ready lunch so um looking
at the plane pulling at the back where
it’s been learning paper your fingers
and cut a slight upward when throwing
and here we go that was pretty good not
nice that was pretty good on three okay
one two three oh snap I think my why I
further it’s only my further man now
alex is going to demonstrate how he
makes one of his own designs which is
was it again a Phoenix he’s going to
make a Phoenix it was his own design and
he’s gonna show us quickly how he does
it this is going to take him about half
an hour to do we’re going to speed it up
