Social Network Junkies & Media Addiction!

peace infinite waters diving deep once
again Facebook Twitter myspace social
network junkies and media addiction I
had two Facebook accounts and one has
already been deleted and I’m
contemplating whether or not to delete
the second one but at the same time I
realized that it’s a great way to keep
in touch with people and when we talk of
social media social network junkies how
many of us are spending all of our time
on Facebook on Twitter and all of these
things and I’m just realizing the beauty
of Facebook in connecting the world
together in meeting friends that we
haven’t seen for ages but at the same
time are we is it taking over our lives
are we becoming more afraid to actually
talk to real people to talk to people
outside of our homes and okay you have
700 or you have 4,000 or you have 5,000
friends on Facebook but how many of
these people do you really know more so
how many of these people do you really
want to know and for me I’m just
realizing that you have to take
everything with a pinch of salt and
especially when we talk about our
Facebook interactions with people a lot
of it I feel we only have few genuine
people that we can actually say okay
these are my real friends on Facebook
and if you leave Facebook how many
people are gonna be saying okay where
did you go where did you disappear and
for me the more and more as I’m saying
even when we talk of the rise of
Technology
living in this transhumanist world where
technology is becoming an extension of
ourselves a lot of us we can’t live one
day without being on
the social media networks on all of
these great sites but essentially what’s
going to happen when you travel
somewhere where you need to be without
it for a couple of months people are
gonna start having withdrawal symptoms
and for me I’ve got to real realize that
I use all of these things as a tool I’m
not one of these people to say okay
Facebook is horrible I don’t really feel
it is I feel it depends how you use it
essentially a lot of people say that
being a social network junkie people are
tracking your every move
why would you want to give personal
information to the whole world but at
the same time I always say it depends
how you play it because a lot of people
have had great relations through
Facebook but essentially when it becomes
a distraction when we forget that human
interaction is the most essential part
of communication not just through a
computer screen but actually meeting the
people we’re talking to and when we talk
of media addiction as well on the flip
side of it a lot of us we’re addicted to
a bad news a lot of people say oh why
don’t you talk about more depressing
things because essentially the more you
talk about things the more you allow
them to become your reality and
obviously they do exist the horrors of
the world but essentially when we just
addicted to drama and bad news and
essentially we also have to realize we
also have an illness when we can’t
celebrate the beauty of life as well
they always say bad news cells and a lot
of us we’ve become addicted to drama to
chaos and for me I love new sometimes
even just mainstream news I love
watching it because I love to see what
they’re not saying and there are some
great news websites such as RT even on
YouTube which you have a kind of more
open-minded approach to news but even
then a lot of it’s still just a
distraction from you what are you doing
with your life and for me this is the
most empowering thing getting away from
being a social network junkie and
recovering for a media addiction what
are you doing for your life how are you
empowering your life it’s not just about
looking at other people’s lives what are
you doing for yourself and the people
around you so
social network junkies infinite waters diving deep enjoying the sunshine peace
