Scientists Discover Another Earth || Have We Discovered Earth 2.0?

peace infinite waters diving deep once
again have we finally found earth 2.0
can I get a hello there so astronomers
recently discovered a planet that has a
similar size as planet Earth
and this is ground breaking 490
light-years away in a constellation
called Cygnus lies a planet called
kepler 186f now why this is so powerful
this discovery is that it is in a
habitable zone what we call the
Goldilocks zone where water can be
formed it is the right temperature for
liquid water to form so we are now
realizing that life may exist there
other life-forms alien life-forms crazy
life-forms strange life-forms NASA’s
Kepler mission has discovered the first
earth-sized planet orbiting in the
habitable zone of a star outside our
solar system the newly discovered planet
is called kepler 186f and is about ten
percent larger than earth kepler 186f is
the first validated earth-sized planet
in the habitable zone of its star
it’s the outermost of five planets to
orbit a star that is smaller and cooler
than the Sun this planet orbits Starving
130 days and so this places it in the
habitable zone where it’s it’s in a
region where it could have liquid water
on its surface kepler 186f resides in
the kepler-186 system about 500
light-years from Earth in the
constellation cygnus this planet kepler
186f
orbits a star that’s cooler and dimmer
than the Sun so while we may have found
a planet that’s the same size as Earth
and receives a similar amount of energy
to what
receives it orbits a very different star
so perhaps instead of an earth twin
we’ve discovered an earth cousin on the
surface of kepler 186f the brightness of
its star at high noon is only as bright
as our Sun appears to us about an hour
before sunset
scientists believe kepler-186f is likely
to be a rocky world but are unable to
confirm its mass and density this is one
of the big milestones that we’ve been
looking for in our in our attempts to
find out if there are places just like
home and if there’s life out there one
of the big steps is to say is there
somewhere that looks to all intents and
purposes like Earth well we don’t know
just yet but we know that there are
places that at least look similar
managed by NASA’s Ames Research Center
the Kepler mission collected this data
using a space-based telescope to search
one part of the galaxy for potentially
habitable planets Kepler the NASA Kepler
telescope which is always going around
the Milky Way
looking for new planets was from the
German astronomer Johann Kepler and in
the observatory
they are always finding new discoveries
now I look at this from a psychological
side in becoming our greatest version
how can this help us out now let’s look
at it the three C’s human beings are
inherently curious we want to know what
is out there arthur c clarke the author
of 2001 Space Odyssey wrote two
possibilities exist either
we are alone in the universe or we are
not both are equally terror
crying now Stanley Kubrick made that
into a film
you see curiosity has gotten many of us
searching for signs of intelligence why
maybe because there isn’t a hell of a
lot of intelligence on planet Earth
you see I look at it it is wonderful
that our mind is expanding to realize we
may not be the only intelligent
life-form around you see because what
the bleep do we know and we are always
so interested in finding other
life-forms and I always think to myself
what about taking care of planet Earth
shouldn’t that be our first priority
shouldn’t that be our number-one
priority but it is wonderful I’m happy
just to see that even science is coming
out of the Woodworks to remind us that
life is everywhere there are more stars
than grains of sand that is telling us
something what is the other sea
connection because so many of us are
living in a fragmented society we have
this need for connection but I say we
don’t just have to find connection in
out of space we have to find connection
on a mental emotional physical level
with one another with people in our own
community and civilization we are
constantly evolving and kepler-186f is
fascinating because
if life does exist there I bet you they
are going to be more advanced than us
because Zakaria snitching was attempting
to explain through his books that human
beings we have a wondrous earth but it
is not the only intelligent planet with
intelligent life-forms life is
everywhere and what I love about this
discovery is that it is showing us how
vast this whole universe is now in the
scientific community they call kepler
186f ass cousin because the star it
orbits every 130 days is actually a lot
cooler than our Sun but what is
fascinating is that water is likely to
be formed on its surface there is so
much we don’t know about but we think we
know everything it’s just like in that
cannabis song you need to fear science
not saying do you think if other
life-forms existed they would tell you
but the ancients have always known that
we are not alone in this universe and it
is the most empowering thing why because
it humbles you there was a film called
another earth fantastic and the director
spoke about how he was inspired by Carl
Sagan the pale blue dot the Drake
the equation
for discovering other life-forms in our
Milky Way galaxy we have to open our
eyes and we have to realize that life is
everywhere so there you have it have we
found earth 2.0 I wouldn’t be surprised
if in the next 20 years we are gonna
start realizing other life-forms exists
and we can learn from them we better
start taking notes oh boy we better
start taking notes we are here infinite
waters diving deep once again stay well stay healthy
