really I get tons of questions from
people who say they’re dealing with
people who are judging them 24/7 what
they’re wearing how they’re talking how
they’re walking where they play at night
do you play at night I don’t know you
wrote in right they say that the
greatest way to avoid criticism is to do
look you just criticize me just them and
I was silent can I get a hello there let
me share with you what’s helped me along
my journey I say your critics are your

because do you know how much time and
energy it takes to focus on someone
you’re like dreaming right someone’s got
to really love you to think about you
you got to be really special because it
takes a lot of energy a lot of time a
lot of commitment and a whole lot of
infatuation for someone to to pick you
out of all of those millions of people
billions right now
the reason why so many people have a
problem with criticism is because it
serves as a highlighter right it’s
either gonna stir you up or make you
happy but usually most critics break you
down right they tear you into little
pieces and then they put spit you back
out I say I love my critics baby because
my critics are my greatest fans in fact
they make me more powerful can I get a

you see if I talk about you it means I
like you I love you I really feel we
should become friends because you see I
only talk about people when I’m gonna
uplift them so I grew up skateboarding
and skateboarders we have this habit of
banging our decks right we call deck
skateboards if you don’t skateboard
right when someone does a great trick
and guess what many times when you’re
skateboarding there’s always a skater
who may not be getting a trick but we
still cheer them on because
skateboarders are nice people we help
uplift people right and there are a few
jerks don’t worry about it but you see
criticism even self-criticism what does
it do it kills your creativity your
artwork a lot of people can’t handle
criticism why because afterwards they
want to do nothing be nothing and say
nothing it’s almost as if the juice has
been knocked out of them so I’ve been
sharing the years right and I know as a
psychologist how to deal with criticism
what criticism is so that’s why I can
keep sharing with full confidence but if
the cat down the road decides to
criticize me I’m gonna take it as a
compliment because the cat down the road
is paying me attention which means it is
giving me its energy can I get a hello

so realize that your critics don’t
matter

I remember the great writer Paulo Coelho
said that he doesn’t think about his
critics that’s their job and it made me
realize that that is so true you see so
many of us we spend our time worrying
about people who don’t serve us I say I
am letting go of whatever no longer
serves me to make space for what the
hell inspires me and that is that
beautiful prana baby right now in the
grand scheme of criticism right we can
write essays we can write essays on
criticism because it’s so exciting look
at it like this many people stop having
fun you play it safe when someone
criticizes you so when I first started
to make videos someone said gosh Ralph
that video so long it was only four
minutes so I said actually okay I’m
gonna take on board what you say and the
next video the next video was 26 minutes
can I get a Hello there you see I made
videos with my hair all over the place
and some people said Ralph your hair
looks terrible
do you know how I felt yeah I felt like
that it was really hard and I thought
okay I’ve got to make my hair like this
I got to make my hair like that then I
said actually my hair does not define
who I am I am NOT my hair I am so much
more so that gave me the strength to say
screw it and for many years I made
videos with my hair all over the place
and guess what I loved it
can I get a hello there do whatever you
want say whatever you want go wherever
you want and if anybody’s got a problem
with that screw them at the same time
always ask yourself where am I
where are my critics coming from you see
many times you’ve got that one friend
who criticizes what you’re wearing maybe
it’s the red blouse maybe it’s the
jacket right maybe it’s the high heels
maybe it’s the sweater take it off you
look terrible and sometimes because it’s
the best friend we know they’re telling
the truth but like but Bacharach said
who are these people
you see many critics criticize us
because it’s the easiest thing to do in
the world to tear somebody apart but at
the same time to build someone up to
give someone constructive criticism
that’s a lot harder right a lot of
people say Ralph what’s the easiest way
I want to get millions of views like you
do on YouTube and I say well a lot of
people think that they can talk about a
famous youtuber and criticize them and
then blow up and that might work or you
could ask yourself what kind of energy
are you attracting I always say you’ve
got to be yourself
love yourself and accept yourself
because I connected with
millions of people how I didn’t talk bad
about people I didn’t need to
why because life is great right we’re
good we’re having fun baby I don’t need
to tear you down to make myself feel
better and that is how so many critics
act they tear you down so once again
they can make a spotlight for themselves
by using your own energy so once again
ask yourself where are the intentions
behind the critic what are their
intentions are they there to help you
really or are they there or are they
there are they there to tell you apart
you see I could look at you right now
and think of a million probably a
billion different things I don’t like
but once again it’s only coming from my
interpretation how you see me has
nothing to do with me it has everything
to do with you
that is why two critics can never agree
on the same subject
why because criticism is purely
subjective what you think is good I
might think is bad what you think is bad

look for the flaws the mistakes when
someone is trying to help you they are
giving you solutions to your problems as
a psychologist and counselor people
always come to me everything I’m doing
consultations and I don’t criticize
people because like the great
psychologists my inspiration Carl Rogers
said he saw everyone with unconditional
positive regard and that’s the same as
my own counseling service right I don’t
say to my clients are you got depression
shame on you it’s all your fault right
no not at all I see them with the utmost
respect compassion because I realize
that if I tear them apart what is it
gonna do right but if I give them
constructive ways that may help them
right that’s why I don’t give advice
every video most videos I always say
well this is what’s helped me along my

it might work for you it might not you
got to remind yourself you have to be
brave and there is always a lesson to be
learned in criticism in fact we need
critics why because once again it just
means you got more fans you see a critic
will test you a critic
we’ll make you into something you are

what you said and I think actually hmm
should I say that in the next video or
should I just be authentic you see so
the critic critics are there to test us
to see if we are who we say we are you
see so once again if you have something
inside of you the critic is gonna bring
it out but once you love yourself once
you are authentic once you are original
you don’t worry about the critics but
more so once you go through the process
when you see the ebb and the flow the
unique cycle you got nothing to worry
about
