peace infinite waters diving deep once
again do you understand the words coming
out of my mouth can I get a Hello public
speaking tips I get a lot of questions
around this subject from people who want
to stop making videos but they’re shy
they’re nervous and I’m gonna share with
you what’s helped me along my journey
improve my public speaking tip number
one nobody’s listening I’m sorry but I
had to break it to you we always feel
people are listening to the words coming
out of our mouth then we realize they’re
not I’ve seen that we are not captivated
by what people are saying we are
captivated by their energy it’s never
what you say it’s the energy behind that
matters and I always focus on my energy
making sure I’m calm before I stop
talking because that reduces the anxiety
it takes the pressure off also looking
at our voice the pace the rhythm many of
us we’re talking so fast that’s why we
become nervous I want you to give a
speech what what me and when you’re
making the speech you’re rushing once
you’ve slowed down now you are tuning
into your energy and when people listen
to you
they have that visceral connection it’s
hitting them right in the gut the
stomach that emotional connection how
they feel nobody is listening to you
they are feeling you that’s the greatest
secret I’ve learned so I love to keep it
simple it doesn’t matter how many books
you’ve read and how intelligent you want
to sound by showing all of this research
data that’s what I did along my early
journey when I said I said to myself
just slow down take all of that stuff
out it doesn’t matter just make sure you
are expressing how you really feel and
it shows because once you can realize
it’s not what you’re saying no one cares
what you’re saying it’s how you’re
saying it more so if you enjoy what
you’re talking about
the second tip that’s helped me along my
journey is to always realize that with
public speaking comes fear comes down
comes disbelief so confidence is a great
factor in influencing and improving your
public speaking confidence can be
expressed in the voice can you dance
around when you’re talking confidence is
knowing
you’re talking about and for this I say
don’t just talk about what you don’t
know what you’re talking about chatting
away study your subject matter to the
core know who you’re talking to the
audience and always this is what I say
to myself realize that nervousness is
contagious when you are there trembling
shaking screaming and squirming what’s
happening now people were listening to
you are doing the same thing when you
can relax people relax but I say
whenever you are doing public speaking
you always have to trust yourself the
reason why so many of us feel nervous
when we are talking publicly is because
we doubt ourselves and that comes across
in the message you are sharing for me
confidence is all about the message and
placing value on what you have to share
with the world for me is the most
empowering thing the third tip for me is
to get personal when I was 12
this happened to me when I was 13 this
happened to me listen to what happened
to me it’s not about being super
emotional I say it’s about being super
authentic and the more you tune in to
your true authenticity people can see
you are a normal person wait a minute
wait wait what is a normal person people
can relate to you
because the more you share your
experiences not just research data but
actual life stories this captivates
people to you that’s what’s helped me
along my journey at the same time I love
to get research and combine the
theoretical information and knowledge
with my own personal experiences and
this is why I can communicate to so many
different people because I’m talking
about the life I have lived and I say
getting personal is not easy you have to
be vulnerable you have to put yourself
out there who wants to do that but it is
so worth it because the more you open up
the more other people open up to you and
it’s helped me along my journey in
phenomenal ways and being personal is
about letting go totally and it goes on
to the fourth tip which is all about
taking risks how many of us can take a
pause when we’re talking so I was going
here then I was going there it’s the
interval which creates even more power
sometimes silence is wonderful when
you’re talking the emphasis an example
of showing you how energy is so
body language it was the most wonderful
day so once you loosen up
once you loosen the body it allows your
voice to convey your true message the
diction the tone of your voice all of
these things play a powerful role in
public speaking for me it’s been about
practice that is why I can take risks
because I’ve been doing this a long time
that it’s like I’m on autopilot but
taking risks
is about not just playing it safe a lot
of us could just talk about what we’re
comfortable about talking about but
guess what
there’s always something that you want
to talk about but you’re scared what’s
gonna happen if I say this so I say it
and say who cares it is the most
liberating feeling in the world when you
can start talking about what you are
afraid to talk about that is captivating
that is what so many of us are
interested in so once you start to take
risks in even certain subject matters
which you’re afraid of you find that if
you’ve done it once you can do it twice
three times and now you have even more
confidence with your public speaking
number five was help me along my journey
is to have fun
plain and simple when you smile I smile
when you frown
I frown it’s a reflection whatever
energy you are experiencing is the same
energy other people are obviously we
don’t control other people but we have
to see the energy we are giving off is
being absorbed so therefore I always
start in a very peaceful way full of
serenity because that’s the energy I’m
giving off and in turn that’s the energy
I receive so whenever you are talking
speaking at any event always ask
yourself how is my own energetic state
so whenever I make videos for example
I’m always doing yoga before I’m going
into nature before so I’m very calm when
I’m talking I’m very clear when I’m
talking and I let go and have fun is not
about showing everyone how perfect you
are great public speaking is about
exposing your flaws
being able to laugh at yourself being
able to cry if you want but also
enjoying the actual experience instead
of the outcome and realizing that it’s
not about convincing so much when you
are giving public speaking it’s about
sharing giving another perspective and
that’s what I do
but don’t forget to smile
don’t forget to remind yourself why you
are doing it and I’m doing this because
it feels so good there you have infinite
waters diving deep once again stay well stay healthy
again do you understand the words coming
