inside of this tin is a powerful mini
crossbow I’m gonna take it apart and see
what’s inside and how it works then I’ll
rebuild and hack it to be even more
powerful for relatively cheap this is a
fantastic starting point for awesome spy
gadget projects so I’m excited to see
what this thing can do welcome to gear

launching point to make some
improvements and integrations for some
future more complicated builds so leave

I think this is really cool and I have a
bigger idea in mind but we’re gonna try
and make some improvements first so you
can actually take this apart pretty
simply you can see comes with some extra
limbs two extra bow strings and twelve
of these little crossbow bolts which I
may have more of because I was having a
little bit of fun shooting this around
earlier and actually is very powerful
for its size but I’m gonna try and
upgrade this today taking both of these
and adding them to the existing bow we
have right now

it’s a lot more simple than I thought it
was gonna be
so that part usually goes on top so I
removed this piece and actually put it
on the bottom like this that way I could
use this as a mounting portion in case I
wanted to add something like this little
reel which is from the world’s smallest
fishing rod and I wanted to create like
a little grap and hug attachment this
little clip here is what held down the
toothpick or matchstick and then there’s
a little site here made out of this tiny
wire so we could probably make our own
so this is the guts of one of those
really cheap laser pointers you get from
the dollar store so we could maybe set
that there and create our own little
aiming site and then we could put like
two little arrows here or something yeah
I don’t think I couldn’t fit them in
there they don’t really stay maybe we
could make something to stick there and
that way I can have a couple of arrows
kind of sticking out the front or maybe
kind of like on the side similar to how
you sometimes see crossbows hug the
bolts and I could use this as the
mounting slot
so we can attach that I’m not gonna lie
this thing’s not made the best way
there’s a little blemishes and stuff on
it like I think when they are gluing
this brass plate whatever it is they use
some glue and they got glue on the
actual thing
it’s a shame these aren’t even the same
size there’s just slight variations you
can see whenever I actually closed this
down where the boat kind of sits I close
that you can see there’s just a small
smidge difference when I close these
this side is not as bad it almost looks
like you should flip them but there’s a
little groove cut in here that doesn’t
allow you to really do that that has to
be there and that sits right up against
that it’s powerful how nice broke that’s
how strongest thing is this thing broke
this malfunctioned no idea if this is
doing it good but hey let her try
American grip you know this probably
came from China to prevent the string
from breaking down over time I’m gonna
be using a little bit of this stuff it’s
called string snot when I saw the name I
knew it was the one because there’s a
lot of these on the market and even is
green so what you do is wax the rail
here and it helps to avoid erosion over
time because this bowstring is coated
with a little plastic and that helps to
sort of prevent it from breaking down so
now I got the string snot crossbow and
I’m probably overdoing it but hey I’m
never gonna use this stuff but I use it
from my other crossbows sometimes that I
never use so yeah pretty much never
gonna get used string snot not sponsored
it’s gonna be really hard to replace
these parts so I like to stay organized
and keep on these little baggies you can
buy them usually in the section that has
all the beads and that way you won’t
have any issues whenever you go to put
this thing back together so this is our
stock crossbow the way that it’s
supposed to be whenever you take it out
of the package and this is our upgraded
version which we just basically added
another limb to make it twice as
powerful I’m just gonna put a little bit
of black sharpie on that way we know
who’s who and the one on the left is our
stock the one the rights is our double
power upgraded version you can hear the
first one kind of sounds like it went
through the foam and hits the wood in
the back
but you can still see the metal tips
that are poking out however on the
upgraded version they have completely
sunk into the phone so yeah there’s a
pretty significant difference in
penetration there however for the
original you can tell it kind of just
penetrated right up to that point where
the metal piece meets the wrath yeah
okay call it the shaft
it’s the shaft

all right so I have these extra long
toothpicks we’re going to use these as
our darts instead I’m gonna try to take
a little bit of tape that way it can
kind of wide in the end and give it the
string a little bit more to bite on yes
and we even get it a stick from
