What I learned from Army Boot Camp in 1997

so today we’re doing the episode at Pooh
Corner Hawaii what happens when you want
to come here you drive up a mountain and
you come all the way to the top it’s a
dead end you park the car and then you
hike all the way down then he come to
the spot as this is just a beautiful
place looks like heaven and this is
where they shot Waterworld if you
remember with the world with Kevin
Costner was shot right here and today’s
message dis reminded me of April of 1997
in April 1997 when I joined the military
we went in the field that was an award
so like if we wonder was for three weeks
and three weeks no showers no nothing no
soap all you had was baby wipes he slept
on rocks there was snakes everywhere
spiders everywhere
mosquitoes everywhere I mean you have
mosquito bites all over the place it was
hot it was humid we were in South
Carolina
weather was terrible you were just
sweating everyone smell was horrible and
I’ll never forget when we were done with
the field and we came back when the bus
pulled up all we thought about was two
things we wanted to take a hot shower
and we wanted to sleep in our bed that’s
what we wanted to do when we went
upstairs in a barracks
we took a four-hour shower for our
showers steam it took four hours I mean
it was just wild when we came up
appreciating what a shower was all about
and then sleeping in our bed today’s
message is about the fact that sometimes
we forget the small things alive
we sometimes need to remind ourselves of
how great life we have so many great
things we had that we forget to cherish
my challenge to you is to make a list of
things you’re grateful for just not
remind yourself about that that’s the message of the week
