here everyone’s trying to figure out a
way to create their own brand a lot of
people are thinking about what if I want
to start my own website what if I have
something to tell and you know we we
reached out to you because we’ve been
following your website for years now
addicted to success and we’ve been
sharing a lot of the material that you
have you you produce some great content
that I myself I’ve been a product of it
for many years now three and a half four
years now
and I heard you have 50 million viewers
on your website from inception so today
is that an accurate number that is an
accurate number actually 53 million so
unbelievable um so so who is Joel Braun
how did this whole thing get started wow
that’s a great question man I don’t it’s
funny I’ve had a kind of a colorful life
I’ve worked in many different industries
and this is the thing right I think that
a lot of people they have this
misconception thinking that you only
have one passion and you know like once
you find that passion you fall in love
with it and that’s it you commit it for
the rest of your life and it’s it’s not
true man it’s not true you like you we
have multiple passions in our life and
you know something that fully lights us
up one day we don’t know 100% if that’s
gonna carry on for the rest of our life
and it’s okay to say I think it’s time
to move on so for me I had to understand
that you know quite a few years back I
don’t understand it you know it’s more
about being happy and that’s what you
know the definition of success is really
everyone’s definition is different but
for me it’s about are you happy with how
you’ve lived and are you happy with
where you’re at right now that’s that’s
that’s successful right so when so from
me I started to realize it like yeah
it’s it’s you’re gonna wake up each day
and know that what you’ve done up until
today has resulted in a day of happiness
and a year of happiness ahead of you so
why don’t you wake up
I mean what was the idea bada addicted
to success like did you say I’m gonna
start my homicide I’m gonna start my own
brand I’m gonna start you know my own
blog if some people called it and hey
I’m gonna started called addicted to
success how did that idea come about
yeah great question so it’s funny I used
to work in a music industry I left the
music industry oh look you got the look
of a musician by the way nice that you
yeah and I left the music industry I put
that behind me I came back to Perth I
was living in Miami Florida I came back
to Perth Western Australia and I didn’t
know what I was gonna do all I knew was
that I wasn’t a hundred percent happy
they were sick of waiting around on
everybody else to make decisions and I
just you know I wanted to take life by
the reins and control a little bit more
myself it was kind of like an
uncontrollable market for me so yeah so
I decided that I was gonna come back to
Perth Western show back to my roots and
then really work out what I’m gonna do
with my life
and it’s funny I I went back to a sales
job which way I was considerably good at
I I got asked to come back from the the
manager that I was working under it you
know a few years before that before the
music industry and I started working
with them again and I and I has my focus
in Austria in Australia and I had my
full focus on getting the pay rises get
bigger salary getting promoted and I did
all that and I played the corporate life
for like it was only like six months
nine months I started get all got all
the promotions and everything I went in
and I knew I knew that if I really want
to achieve success I could do it in any
arena any industry to supply it to you
know all these books and Tony Robbins
Robert Kiyosaki TR Becker these books
that I was reading I’m sorry was pretty
big in a self development before all of
this and I that the CEO and founder of
the company decided to put together like
a little workshop and he invited Jordan
Belfort the wolf of Wall Street in to
train us on sales and this was before
you know the wolf of Wall Street movie
was our Jordan actually told us that
there was gonna be a movie and he’s
talking with Martin Scorsese at the time
this as many years like four
years ago four years ago and yeah I’m
we’re sitting in the workshop and Jordan
was you know sharing his story and this
man died at the whole time like for the
two days ago in their training
I just felt fired up the whole time I
didn’t know what it was I was like this
is crazy it just it just I started
dreaming big dreams again and he even
challenged us he’s like whatever you
thinking think bigger and he’s like
don’t set goals cost visions you know in
it and I was sitting there like wow like
this is new to me because I came from
like high school where they’re telling
us you know set your little girls here
and there for your career but not you
know cost your vision for your life
which to me made more sense so yeah he
kind of challenged us to UM write down
where we wanted to be in one week one
month one year five years ten years 20
years and so on and like really cast
that vision out and work out how we’re
gonna get that day-by-day what are the
daily actions the habits and so on that
we’re gonna implement to get there and
this was such a new way of thinking to
me and and I what I was talking to him
and and I said you know congratulations
on my success and it’s great you you’re
transparent you came out and you’ve
shared your story of how you failed and
you you went by bad ethics and now
you’re teaching people about good ethics
and business and so on and he thanked me
and he said you know he asked me you
know Joe do you have any goals I said no
no not really you know not really cause
he’s like life goals not not just
business goals like goes and I was like
no no really and he’s like well that’s
good and I said what do you mean like
someone like you you don’t have goals
and he said no he said look goals are
good for a little short-term
achievements but he’s like you want to
cost a vision and you want to achieve
that vision and and you don’t need to
workout you’re gonna get then he asked
me is like what are you good at and I
was like well yeah I’m good at computers
and good at and he’s okay and he’s like
what what I what lights you up I’m like
just being in this room here listening
to you and this seemed to likes anything
self-development reading books and
audios and whatever right like I loved
it so he’s okay what you want to do is
you want to find what lights you up and
also what you’re good at and you cross
the – that’s that’s a pretty good you
know some that equals a great formula
right so yeah and I just kind of left
and I decided I was like I’m gonna start
looking more into this self-development
I was reading books over space of many
years and I decided to go all-in and go
I’m gonna commit myself to reading these
and really working out what I want to do
in my life came back home I looked I was
like ah maybe I’ll start up a little
website and start bookmarking like some
of my favorite articles and it was a
real simple basic website started you
could see the first ever post was a

Jordan and then I would just yeah just
keep adding articles and for me it was
just bookmarking it but then it got to a
point where a few people at my work that
I was working at saw that I was on this
slide all the time like what is this
site it looks pretty cool when I was
like oh it’s just like some you know
it’s my site in this shed you know I
have inspirational content so they
started checking it out and they started
sharing it with their friends and their
Facebook and I started to get some
traffic coming through I was like oh
this is cool but then I decided like
okay maybe I should put on a share bar
so I can share it with other people not
just keep it for myself and that’s how
it all started man I just it just grew
and grew and I was like wow there’s a
formula to this people love feeling
inspired people want hope they want to
know that there’s something bigger and
better out there for them so they can
achieve a success so yeah man that’s
that saddle was birth and that’s what
you know where we’re at today is 53
million views later yeah it’s it got a
lot bigger than I ever expected it to be
well you know were you anticipating
getting 53 million views nah it was like
four years ago if you told me four years
ago there’d be 53 million views I would
have just laughed I wouldn’t believe
that when we like now maybe maybe in 10
years you know in everybody I interview
so you know everybody’s got a certain
point where a tipping point happened
when was your tipping point when all of
a sudden you went from saying well this
is something small that just inspired me
and all of his son wait a minute this
thing’s got legs it started to spread
with or without my control anymore it’s
just starting to get international when
did that happen to you do you remember

point happening yes yeah when Dwayne
Dwayne the rock Johnson and P Diddy shed
my articles on their Twitter when that
happened and a lot went especially when
Dwayne Dwayne Johnson shed what was his
like an article I put together on Dwayne

why Dwayne Johnson is so successful and
I shed it out and it it was probably
like a couple weeks later I finally got
maybe inside under his radar
someone shed it and tagged him in or put
an out at tweak to him and he found it
and he went boom shed it out and I saw
this massive spike in my traffic I
started getting people hit me up hey
Dwayne Johnson said it’s article or
thought I just let you know and and then
I I don’t know man it’s it’s funny like
it’s just like that wave launched and
then all of a sudden I just started to
find all these people started reaching
out to me saying they saw it on Dwayne
Johnson scene and they loved it involved
and it put that extra boost of
inspiration in me to go harder and go
alright I’m gonna start pumping water
comes out let’s start reaching out to
more people and writing articles on
other successful people win and dumb
yeah and it just was like waves like
this and on alright when I really
realized that I have a community around
me that I’m not just the only one that
loves success and wants to you know be
inspired each day and wants to strive
for bigger and better things that’s when
everything changed that’s why when I
went my whole perspective change I
stopped thinking about the money after I
implemented the ads and made enough to
leave my day job I stopped thinking
about the money because it wasn’t it
wasn’t so much of a focus it was coming
in anyway and that then I could focus on
building the business building the brand
