it doesn’t matter what part of the world
you’re from everyone recognizes this
frame Harvard Harvard Business School is
where I’m currently at in you may be
asking how did I go I mean from a 1.8
GPA in high school which is what I had
to Harvard Business School this is not
supposed to make any sense I mean I
remember graduating from high school and
universities wouldn’t accept me junior
colleges wouldn’t accept me heck the
high school didn’t want me back
they just said get out of here and I
joined the army and I told myself at one
point of my life if I ever go back to
any school any skip I want to tie my
name to any school I want to go to
Harvard Business School one day so many
applications later I finally got
accepted for Harvard Business School’s
owner president management program
that’s three weeks of living on Harvard
campus and I want to take exactly what
happened with me so traditionally most
people go to high school you get a very
strong GPA and then hoping after getting
the strong SAT you apply to Harvard and
they accept you I took a different route
I had a one-point AGP initially right
afterwards I chose to become an
autodidact so let me tell what an
autodidact is autodidact is somebody
who’s a self-taught person now this
doesn’t mean people didn’t influence me
positively not at all it just means I
didn’t wait for somebody to teach me I
went and read all the books I can get my
hands on I don’t need to go to school I
don’t need to go to traditional round I
went and read as many business books
like that I can today I’ve read over
1,200 books and after deciding to become
an autodidact I chose to become an
entrepreneur and so my journey of
becoming an entrepreneur started off as
a you know person becoming an advisor at
Morgan Stanley Dean Witter right after
the military start to learn how to sell
then I want to become an independent
contractor agent with Transamerica for
about seven and a half years and then
after that October of all and I started
my own insurance agency PHP agency where
we went from 60-some agents to 2,400
agents in 40 some states we raised money
we grew the business we’ve done all
these great things with the business but
then I got to a point as a CEO growing
myself realize it I need to go and
surround myself around other people who
are absolutely crushing it and
so I chose to apply and attend Harvard
Business School so you know most people
say why is Harvard such a big deal where
everybody talks about Harvard there’s a
reason for that if I were to ask you how
long do you think Harvard’s been around
what would you say 100 years 200 years
maybe 300 years what if I told you
Harvard got started a hundred and forty
years before the United States of
America was even a country Harvard got
started in 1636 when it became a
university we’re talking 1636
here’s a few fun facts way to be
thinking about Harvard they’ve had 47
Nobel laureates 32 head of state 48
Pulitzer Prize winners think about that
that’s a lot of people eight Harvard
graduates signed the Declaration of
Independence eight Harvard grads ended
up becoming a President of the United
States think about this
John Adams John Quincy Adams Teddy
Roosevelt Franklin D Roosevelt JFK
George Bush Rutherford Hayes and Barack
Obama that’s eight different presidents
and if you come to the campus and you
walk around the campus
this place has a sense of history like I
can describe there’s something very
special about this campus whether you go
into the Baker library whether you’re
going on the Harvard Business campus to
my right I’m literally looking at the
Harvard football stadium which looks I
got to say looks identical to the
Coliseum from Rome which is just epic
look if you have a chance to ever come
on the campus you know walk around you
ought to do it but I want you to keep
the surmise some of you may say wait a
minute Pat you have some strong opinions
about school everyone knows have some
strong opinions from college I did a
video called stayin schooling or dropout
which created a lot of controversy I was
contacted by media interview and asking
questions why do you have such strong
opinions about it if you remember a
specific part in that video I
specifically said if you ever have a
chance to go to a an Ivy League type of
school you ought to never turned out
opportunity because I believe that so
the point of this video is very simple
listen it doesn’t matter what part of

be from South Africa you could be from
China you can be from Iran Russia you
could be from Brazil following value
tainment whatever way you follow value
and telling yourself look I don’t know
if I can become an entrepreneur I don’t

then you may explain whatever reasons
your alibis maybe in your excuses maybe
believe me I know exactly what that’s
all about that’s all I did for long big
part of my life so I could choose to
become a victim or I could choose to
become a leader I could choose to change
I could choose to make a decision to
have my blood be remembered I could
choose to be somebody for myself I could
choose to make a difference with my life
and how my last may be a last name
that’s remembered I could choose to be
there you could choose to be there so
with that being said my challenge to you
