Should we be tougher on drugs? – Debate in English

should we be tougher over relaxed of
drugs the war on drugs is not working at
least in America a lot of the problems
of the war on drugs look at how we tried
to stop the cartels from Mexico from
getting big if we made drugs legal they
wouldn’t have anything to fight over
because they wouldn’t be fighting to get
things over the border I think we should
be ultimately more relaxed in the sense
that we should make drugs illegal but
this should still be regulated by the
government
which would be you know way tougher so
like it might be harder I think we
should be tougher I don’t really see the
need for drugs it leads to a lot of
death and there’s this plus sides to it
for people that need like cannabis for
medication needs but I just feel like as
a whole it just leads to addiction and
to death drugs shouldn’t be legal and
because drugs bring a lot of crime and
it can change your personality it is
very very dangerous we take a look at a
country like Portugal which
decriminalized literally every single
drug and they’ve had significant
decrease in drug use actually people
using drugs less people are using harder
drugs less in America the opinions are
starting to shift with Colorado and
Washington recognizing that marijuana is
no more harmful than tobacco or alcohol
once you legalize drugs you can start
taxing it and you can make a lot of
money for the government to go to
different social services that can help
a wide variety of people
anything used responsibly is responsible
