“like to do” or “like doing”

like to do or like doing for example I
like to play tennis
or I like playing 10 sleeve it is fine
the short answer just use I like doing
I like playing I like plus in its more
common and it sounds more natural for
example I like drinking I like getting
drunk I like learning English but the
long answer with are both very similar
in meaning and in some context the same
but there is a difference like plus in
talks about the sport or activity in
general and your interest in it whereas
like plus 2 plus infinitive talks more
about when you personally do the action
or activity like + in can mean this –
which can be confusing so let’s put this
in a context let’s look at these guys
let’s use the verb to box these guys
they both enjoy the sport of boxing and
they both like it when they personally
do the activity so in this case they can
both say I like boxing the activity or I
like to box personally when I do the
activity however this guy he watches
boxing but doesn’t like it when he does
the activity he could say I like boxing
the activity but I don’t like to box for
example because I always lose when he
personally boxes again though the short
answer it’s more common
sounds more natural just use like
love/hate with ing I hope that answers
