How to pronounce “ough”

hey do you know all the different ways
that we can pronounce this there’s like
a million it’s ridiculous
thanks English okay let’s start by
putting a tee at the front of the word
now this spells tough to F so in this
case we pronounce it off tough tough can
mean two things one it could mean
difficult for example well that exam was
tough or it could mean strong hey do you
know that guy that looks like Ali Jason
Statham he’s a tough guy
Ali isn’t next its he H and we’ve got
though though is similar to but actually
means the same thing for example I want
to go outside it’s raining though so in
this case it’s an O so we’ve had f4
tough and O though let’s put a T at the
end I’ll call a different pronunciation
the past of think thought or fat off o
now or thought let’s remove that MT and
put an R after th you try it it’s
through for example you have a window
you jump through the window because your
lessons so boring or if you’re really
sleepy you could sleep through your
lesson put a th o at the beginning and
we’ve got thorough so in this case it
sounds like a thorough thorough in my
research I was very thorough so there
you have all of the five ways to
pronounce the ough no no there’s more
Koff so in this case it sounds like off
cuff but we’ve got another one what
about when you hit this is called a
hiccup the traditional way of spelling
it is this hiccup we don’t say hick off
we say hiccup however usually now you’d
spell it like this hiccup that’s how it
sounds that’s how we write it now but
traditionally hick cut there is another
one a town in England Slough you’ve
probably never been there you have no
reason to go there it’s kind of a boring
place probably I’ve never been there if
you’re from Slough you’re not watching
this Slough the boring place is fine and
with that same pronunciation plow if
you’re in England and you go to the pub
for food get a ploughman’s lunch it’s
satisfying a little test how do you
pronounce these words tough though
thought
through
Thoreau cough hiccup and that really
boring down Slough hey if you liked the
