One Pot Chilli | Jamie Oliver & The Lean Machines


where our food tubers okay we’re going
to do a beautiful chili with all the
trimmings it’s going to be delicious
nutritious and gorgeous but to help me
do it okay
we’ve got the boys from lean machine yes
we’re all about health and fitness
workouts healthy alternatives we just
like to have fun and get healthy along
the way
everyone not a chili it’s easy to do
it’s super economical there’s gonna be
four of your five veg a day in this dish
we’re gonna use turkey and chickens or
leftover roast dinners there’s so many
ways to use it just ever go I’m excited
to cook with you boys we’re really
excited and the beginning of this story
guys the Italians call it a sofrito I’m
kind of using different vegetables here
you can pour cut the tablespoons of
olive oil in there and the idea is for
supper 10-15 minutes just slowly sweat
it off and what happens there is that
natural flavor just just goes absolutely
mental if you rush it you just don’t get
that depth of flavor to your sort of
curries and shoes and stuff like that
I’m already in all of your cutting
skills okay fingers by now
so look all that veggie base we’ve got
leeks peppers carrots we got red onions
here Johnny you all right to sort of
shred all the meat off of that yeah
there’s more nutrition in chicken legs
than there is in breasts where it’s
darker because it kind of a don’t fly
very much chickens right and they do
more work I guess I guess that will come
out of it more yeah okay so I can turn
the temperature up now do you operate a
splice point I do so I’m just going to
take the seeds out this what do you guys
do and what’s your sort of mantra as far
as food goes alongside the physical
stuff that you guys do for us it’s all
about literally is getting the best
quality foods you can like a lot of
people in the fitness industry are crazy
about our what’s up links can I take to
get bigger what’s something that’s not
technically a supplements literally are
our supplement to your diet and if
you’re getting enough of the right foods
in the first place
you’re not going to need the supplements
to be honest so we try and get tons of
green veggie endemically on we kind of
live high fat high protein keep our
calves – vegetable sources a lot of the
time and then just refeed when we fill
in a little bit flat and just because it
kind of keeps you away from other post
stuff the lovely thing about this dish
is you can go to your fridge and react
to what’s kind of leftover bits and
pieces so one level teaspoon of cumin
and one heaped teaspoon of smoked
paprika and a little season of salt and
pepper
just to kind of get that basic seasoning
happening once you stir that in that’s
going to be amazing at this stage in the
game you’re going to add some coriander
stalks gonna go in with any bits and
pieces John if you could just put some
water in that and also get into all
these thighs see this in here all these
little bits so chickens gone in and then
the turkeys gone in as well that’ll just
break up right in there I mean guys
proteins really important proteins mange
on your bodies to repair in each of the
cells your body – your hair your nails
your muscles so when you’re working out
and you put your body under stress you
cause little kind of tears or microfiber
tears in your muscles and basically
protein just helps you recover heads
what people get bigger and stronger when
they go to the gym they go make sure
they like it it’s just kind of dented if
you just come and have a look here and
if I dip my mic here can you hear that
that’s caramelization that’s fry and
that’s development of flavors that is
like all that sort of joy that leftover
meat that didn’t look so attractive it’s
kind of coming back to life now if you
just give that a good old scrape up I
know it looks unappealing and a bit
boring but the flavor in here is at
least double like those kind of stock
cubes that you can buy and that goes
straight in so now we’ve stopped that
frying process we’re into stewing
territory now does smell really good so
two tins of tomatoes go in and then I’ll
just add some water to those tins just
wanting a water and then last but not
least boys probably in Britain the most
underrated source of protein butter
beans I love so they go look at that
it’s gonna look like it’s almost like a
natural sort of gravy around that okay
so we could cook that on the hob for
like an hour just let it simmer and blip
away beautifully or pop it in the oven
about
90 degrees Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit
until it’s just gorgeous and thick and
lovely less early cook always take a
weapon and have a little taste up makes
me twice that’s not like I would know is
incredibly like that these light herbs
are always best in at the last minute
I’m using coriander but it could be mint
it could be parsley it could be basil
thrown around that in I’m going to use a
little vinegar balsamic vinegars great
this is just white wine vinegar just a
little cap like a teaspoon just gives it
that kind of tang so let me make a plate
up boys I’m going to use brown rice from
a nutrition point of view we’ve got
lovely lean proteins we’ve got for your
veg a day we’ve got sound cellar which
is just alive with lovely raw veggies
guacamole yogurt
you got the whole the brown rice so it’s
cut this is almost a perfect meal in my
opinion so look really pleased with that
