hi foodtubers i’m sharon ER and Smith
and I’m crazy about baking cakes about
using the oven
today I’m going to show you how to make
my Rice Krispies ruffle cake it’s a
brilliant celebration cake it’s really
simple and easy to make and the outside
looks so decadent and ruffly it’s gonna
really wow your guests but really you
haven’t done that much work so to get
started I’ve got some butter which I’m
gonna melt in the pan then I have the
glue of the cake glows of yummy
marshmallows give them a good mix up in
the pan so this is all about no baking
so this is why I need melted
marshmallows and butter to be the glue
for the cake because it’s not gonna be
baked in the oven like the usual butter
and flour and eggs and sugar now this is
really hot to be careful I’m just gonna
pour it over the rice krispies and then
as if that’s not enough fun I’ve got
some lovely edible pearls so give it a
really good mix so there we go is all
completely mixed through it’s an amazing
gooey mess just be careful not to touch
it still and then working quickly I’m
just going to pop it into my tins so I
have a little bit a big heart to make
our little stack celebration cake and
then just lift it in Wow and then when
it gets a little bit sticky I like to
grab a bit of nonstick parchment paper
and press it down so it won’t stick to
your hands and then put in another
little bit
and then quickly move on to the other
one
there we have our two tiers for our
cakes our little baby one and our bigger
one and they’re just a little bit warm
still so you just need to let them set
aside until they’re cool and then
they’re good to go so while the cake is
setting I’m going to show you how to
make buttercream icing and I like to use
a mixer because it’s just so much easier
so I’m just gonna pop it in the butter
and then pop it on to the beat on its
own first it just makes it nice and
creamy okay so I think this is perfect
I’m just gonna add all of this icing
sugar and I’m just gonna sift it in so
you don’t get any lumps inside now it is
all a little bit naughty but this is
celebration cake it’s gonna serve at
least 20 people so it’s fine I’ve been
just a little bit of milk just a few
tablespoons for a nice little flavor a
little bit of vanilla extract and then
give it a really good mix again
okay perfect that’s all really well
combined and then just for the last bit
to make it a little bit more pretty I
have some colored paste food coloring
paste and and you can just add a little
bit at a time until you get the right
color and I know at this one I need a
fairly big chunk so I’m just gonna drop
that in
again I’m just gonna scrape down the
sides look at that color
but is looking perfect and all I need to
do is stick it in the fridge to let it
set a little bit and it’ll be ready in a
bone layer perfect so here is the set
cake and his little baby friend and I
just simply took them out of the tin and
peeled off the parchment paper and now I
just need to show you how to stick them
together so I’ve got the icing in a
disposable piping bag with the nozzle
all set and then just put a little this
is my secret tip little squidgy of the
icing there and that will help stick the
cake so it doesn’t wobble around and
then do the same thing on the top so
this is called a petal nozzle it’s like
a little pair or a little drop shape the
important bit with this to make the
ruffles is that this wider piece put it
against the cake so I’m just going to
hold the bag up right against the cake
the wider bit is against the cake and
the skinny bitch is on the outside and
then just squeeze the bag and go
backwards and forwards as you come up
the side of the cake so PI P PI P and
maybe put some nice music on and go to
your heart’s content
so now just for these little top bits
it’s a similar sort of process this time
instead of going up you’re going
sideways so it’s the exact same on the
top the fat part of the nozzle in
towards the center and go back and forth
around in a circle so there you have it
my finished Rice Krispies truffle cake
what do you reckon
looks pretty good if you want to join in
the fun and a bit of the ruffle cake
action check out the recipe it’s below
and there’s more great fun recipes in my
book no bake baking and now just for
some final pretty flourishes
so there you go my finished ruffle cake
I’d love to hear how you got on when you

you next time bye food tubers
