Homemade Crisps – 3 ways | World Cup Munchies | ENGLAND

[Applause]
howdy foodtube its Barry here from my
virgin kitchen on today’s match ten
munchies I’m showing you how to make
crisps or potato chips three different
ways
my name is Barry yo oh yeah you know
you’ve probably heard of me just to let
you know that I endorse these crisps
baked fried or microwave it’s the
perfect lineup for your match day and it
helped you win the World Cup trophy I
know it’s not the World Cup trophy but
it’s the best I could do it short notice
right so first up today I’m using
something called a mandolin which I’ve
just bought this morning basically it
helps to cut bezel was nice and even so
I went to the supermarket and said can
you show me where your mandolins are and
the lady took me to the Tim through
aisle to the Mandarin so make sure they
take you to the right aisle but anyhow
these cut them so safely and evenly
perfect like nice and thin for Chris
shapes now what I did with my normal
potato is a lot of starch comes off
there so give them a little pack join
with a tea towel as well so it’s nice
and dry ready to go we’ll start off by
frying our Chris old-school style so
grab yourself a pan and put it on to a
nice high flame and pour the oil in
about halfway up you wanna leave the
other half just visit like a safety
precaution really
and once it’s super hot you want to tip
in your potato slices so I added one in
first of all at a time to get it nice
and brown and then put it on some
kitchen towel to drain off and then I
started to get a bit more confident and
added three or four in there they’d
brown it within about a minute take it
out and let it rest once we Chris a done
Pat it dry and cold you can put them
into a nice little bag chucking your
paprika or your topping of choice and
give it a nice little shake to coat them
fully oh my goodness those are good but
if you’re feeling super lazy and in a
hurry here’s how you microwave crisps
poke your potato slices into a mixing
bowl and add in your oil and your
seasoning so I went for salt and pepper
on these ones and just give it a little
mix with your hands to coat it all
around now get a plate and pour on some
oil and lay out your potatoes so they
don’t overlap all over the plate now I
whacked it into our microwave for four
minutes and that’s at 800 watt microwave
until they come out bubbling and crispy
and when they come out that microwave is
gonna be super hot so be careful
transferring them over and just let them
cool down naturally before eating them
or moving this now I know it’s a little
bit naughty a lil bit cheeky but
they taste really good and again you can
add any flavorings on that you want so
if you have to some drinks to go with
your matchday munchies check out a video
that I’ve done for drinks tube after
this where I’m reviewing some beers and
ciders right down there super super good
so I’ve saved my favorite til last takes
a little longer some sweet potato baked
rosemary crisps so yeah again with this
one grab yourself a mixing bowl with
your potato slices tip on your oil and
mix it all together and again you can
add any top and you wish so I went for
some fresh rosemary funky potatoes down
onto a lined baking tray ensuring they
don’t overlap then you want to bake it
for around about 10 to 12 minutes before
taking them out and just simply flipping
them over with some Tong and baking them
for another 5 minutes you want to bake
them until the edges are hard but the
middles might still be a little bit soft
so you wanna leave them the core fully
and then they’ll harden up Wow guys good
things really do come to those that wait
the taste in those is sensational the
really working its way through there but
of course you don’t have to have two
rows me on there you can have the
paprika the salt and pepper and fact why
don’t you let me know down below what
you would put on yours what favorite
method you’d use or favorite topping
obviously here on food cheer we don’t
know that much about football I thought
