this is one of my favorite recipes a
brilliant fruit puree perfect for that
really really early baby weaning stages
and even the adults love it so really
really really simply this recipe is for
red plums and for apples that’s as
simple as it gets just have them and
just pull out that stone even though
they’re wise in the middle that purpley
skin will make your puree go that
vibrant pink color skin on the fruit is
actually where a lot of the nutrient is
the people who peel a lot of their fruit
or peel their apples lose a lot of that
goodness now you just want four apples
I’m leaving the skin on chopping them in
for removing the core they’re roughly
the same size piece as the plums I’m
actually going to steam them to cook
them I use my calendar even if your
colander holes go all the way up make
sure you’re using a big enough saucepan
so that the steam remains inside and
doesn’t escape so my battles I’m at
plums are in the calendar now I’m going
to add juice of probably about half a
lemon on top it helps stop the apples go
Brown but also brings out that extra
flavor from the fruit make sure that’s
all being coated all that you need to do
now is add a cup of water at the bottom
lid on top bring that water up to a boil
and then just leave it on a low gentle
heat to steam away for 15 to 20 minutes
until they’re nice and soft
okay these are done all that’s going to
happen to that now is it going to get
blips down to puree so I’m going to pop
in here
you’re going to blitz that up this now
can go in fridge it’ll stay in the
fridge for a few days you can also store
in the freezer for toddlers or adults
what I like to do is serve it with some
Greek yogurt and then some toasted
almond and they love it um yay wanna
look so there you go apple and plum
puree I have to say is one dish she
never says no to now in here don’t
forget that is all the water that was
used to senior fruit and this is the
reason why I recommend steaming your
fruit as opposed to boiling it or
stewing it there this fruit syrup is
100% natural and pure but what it is
brilliant pour is diluting it with some
water to give to your baby to drink when
they’re ill so important to give them
fluid
