thank you so much for entering our
competition Jamie and I are really
excited to get so many pictures through
had thousands on Instagram loads of
emails we have to narrow it down you
know we’ve tried to look at everything
we’ve looked at the lighting we’ve
looked at the composition and ultimately
a stability of the food it’s a gut
reaction for me you sort of look at it
and you think wow I want to eat that
we’ve got three to talk to talk about
now and we’re going to try and talk
about three each time the first one I
want to show you is by by someone called
Alessandra and I mean she’s got it
completed the framings lovely the
Lighting’s lovely it’s got a wonderful
style to it the background I don’t know
what she’s chosen it looks like she’s
flipped over a tray or something the
background it’s beautiful I mean here we
have some little cabbage parcels who
knows what’s inside the parcel of
cabbage but what’s nice about the photos
I want to know what’s inside the passes
of cabbage so so yeah Alexandra great
lovely photo love it next one which
we’ve shortlisted is by someone called
Jonathan amazing johnathan again the
lighting on this is lovely I love the
use of the darkness with food
photography you know you are thinking
about light and brightness and
everything and and and food
photographers always have this fear of
darkness but actually this one’s use
darkness to such a good way what you
instantly feel with this photo I think
is you want to pick that first one up
and dump it into the jam it’s all the
little textures and again the focus is
perfect you know the focus is across the
first one with the with the polenta
flower then into the polenta flower and
then you know the folks on the jam
there’s nothing soft that shouldn’t be
soft yeah it’s a good photo nice one
Jonathan now the next photo we’ve
shortlisted is this one there was a
tendency sometimes for people to go far
to too close to
and that could sometimes make things
look too abstract in a way but there’s
something about this one I mean it’s
very very close the colors are amazing I
mean it really you know really pings out
of the screen the focus is perfect it’s
right on that until crack of the egg and
again it has great food appeal I want to
eat this I wanted there it’s hot it’s
ready it’s instant and it’s a great
photo so I’m really sorry I have to
narrow it down to one out of the three
it’s really hard but I have to do it and
I have to say the one I’m going to go
for is Jonathan with his muffins and his
raspberry jam I just think that one has
the sort of ultimate taste appeal really
i do want to dump that muffin in that
jam well done Jonathan
