David Loftus Photography Masterclass – Cameras

it’s funny off often when I’m when I’m
shooting with my big camera I mean you
know these these things that they’re so
cumbersome and lumbering really but what
they do is they’re they’re they’re
incredibly high resolution so
essentially this picture of one egg
could be blown up the size of a
billboard so if I’m shooting in the
street I’m shooting abroad doing go to
travel stories I’ll tend to shoot on a
decent DSLR you know like a cannon or a
Nikon or something like that I’ll shoot
on that but also I’ll carry a a
point-and-shoot a good point and shoot I
mean this is little interchangeable
lenses but it’s a it’s a point-and-shoot
just the same it allows you just to play
no no tripod needed you know the lights
nice you know shallow depth of field you
know what what these things allow you to
do is to play really you don’t have to
be so serious I mean this is a serious
beast of you know I’ve got to take time
and and look after it and nurture it
whereas something like this can just
play with it
you can get very hung up on that on the
on the on the whole sort of geekery of
camera equipment and stuff you can read
as many magazines as you want and look
at as many websites and visit as many
forums as you want ultimately that is
doing the same job as that what’s
fascinating is it’s globally people
taking photographs of their food as
they’re about to eat it and the
difference is with a bit of patience
just to get the light right not to rush
it you know the big thing with mobile
phones is people will snatch out it so
they’ll take photo in a snapchat and
it’s got a blur to it take your time
just gently press the button check it is
it in focus
no have you got detail in there you know
you know it’s very important get the
detail you know lovely dark hole in that
bread you know you know you want to get
in there and eat it
if you won’t see more of my food
