❄1 Tray Christmas Dinner! | Katie Pix ❄

it is Christmas at foodtube and I’m
Katie fix I’m here to take the hassle
out the Christmas dinner
with my one tray Christmas dinner recipe
now perhaps it’s just the two of you
perhaps you just cannot be bothered with
the mountain of washing out that
inevitably happens on Christmas Day but
want to indulge in that quality
Christmas dinner well here’s how to do
it with just one tray all the trimmings
hassle gone washing up gone let’s get to
it all you’re gonna need for this recipe
is one tray now I’m using this
disposable one because I really don’t
like washing up one chopping board one
chef’s knife some tin foil and also a
cup nice decent big solid cup first
thing to do is prep your veggies take
two currents that’s one per person top
and tell them and slice them into
battens leave the skin on it’s rich in
fiber and really good for you repeat the
process of what might be my favorite
Christmas veggie treat pathless if these
aren’t on my Christmas table then mum
cut two potatoes into one centimeter
wedges this way they’re going to cook at
the same rate as your other root veg now
I’ll be the time to pop in those
Brussels sprouts – lovely alright so
those are in my tray as well and we’re
gonna get going on our Yorkshire
puddings that’s right so with our cup we
are going to take the tin foil and I’m
gonna push that down into my cup you
want it to be almost the depth of a kind
of cupcake taste and that’s all we’re
making here and that’s gonna sit like
that so I’ve got my nice kind of oil cup
and I’m just gonna push that down onto a
flat surface as well to make sure it can
support itself and with the excess
you’re going to fold that up and make
sure you’ve got a really nice solid ring
around there and that’s
make sure that you double air it just so
you’ve got a really solid little ramekin
there and that’s gonna go in there to
drizzle this with two tablespoons of oil
all over your veggies and then as a
little Christmas treat we’re also gonna
take some knife squeezy drizzly honey
now the other thing we are going to do
is to fill our Yorkshire pudding pops
with some oil now I’m using sunflower
oil because it’s got a higher burning
temperature two tablespoons into each
ramekin now that is gonna go into your
oven for 10 minutes make sure your oven
is right up to temperature but this is a
little wrap the timing here people you
want to get it quick and we can crack on
with our stuffing
right we’re gonna start off with one
full red onion perfect and I’m just
gonna cut it nice and finely wow that is
a strong onion for a little onion okay
so I’d say minimal washing up so that
lovely little cup that we used to make
our ramekins we are now going to use it
on Singh Bowl so that’s gonna go into
our cup into that we’re also going to
take a nice handful of parsley a nice
generous handful of breadcrumbs a
teaspoon of Dijon mustard its Bolton
peppers take a pinch of each and then
what stuffing without your sausage your
meat we’re going to split mister sausage
in half take your skin off and drop just
the meat of that into our cup as well
and then with a spoon we’re just going
to mix everything together and then
we’re going to crack on with our turkey
okay here we’ve got two turkey breasts
there take your bread steaks which is
the most common way that they come to
supermarket through most times of the
year I’m gonna get my hands involved now
I’m gonna scoop out my stuffing split it
into two and then into each of my turkey
breasts I’m gonna place it into the
middle and then we’re going to just wrap
that turkey meat around it so it’s nice
and encased I’m going to take a nice
strip of smoked bacon back bacon so
you’ve got a nice bit of surface area
and that is going to wrap around your
turkey to thicker side over your join
now to make sure about is also nice and
secure I’m just gonna take a cocktail
stick and pop it all the way through and
it should hold together I’m gonna give
my hands a really good wash get all that
raw meat juice off of them and I’m also
going to dice up some leek I’m gonna use
1 leech chopped into one centimetre
wedges you can get all fancy where the
cider slice
okay cut again which doubles up as our
mixing bowl you want to give this a
really really thorough clean what the
seeming have had Oh war mr. porky pig in
there we’re gonna make our Yorkshire
pudding batter you’re going to take one
heat tablespoon of plain flour crack an
egg in there to drizzle in 50 mils of
milk then we’re gonna give it a good old
whisk and make sure all those lumps of
blond from the flour the consistency
that you’re looking for it’s almost that
of like a pancake batter and I’m also
good just got out of pinch of so in that
as well so which means stage one of Rose
veggie cooking is is complete we’re now
gonna add all the other components so
this is where speed is our friend okay
so don’t be afraid to work quickly at
this point and then you can put your
feet up
so the veggies are coming out Yorkshire
pudding in straight away but then going
to chuck our leeks on to the top of our
veg and place the Kings the stars of the
show on top of our veg as well and we’re
going to drizzle out again with a little
bit of oil salt pepper and then that’s
gonna go back in the oven at the same
temperature for ten minutes and then
we’re going to drop it down and let
everything have a bit of a slow cook
after 10 minutes drop the temperature
down to 200 degrees C leave to cook for
a further 30 to 40 minutes okay there it
has been just under 40 minutes so I’m
gonna check on our rooster dude up yeah
baby
everything everything in one now of
course no Christmas dinner is complete
without your gravy so we’re gonna make
that really quickly and actually just so
things don’t start cooling down I’m
gonna take our handy foil from earlier
I’m gonna pop them in their own spoil
little parcels
and pop them back in the oven I’m also
going to serve out some of our veggies
in fact let’s take let’s get these
beauties let’s free the beauty hotter
than the Sun do leave some of your
veggies in the pan because what I want
to do is just take advantage of some of
their lovely starchiness so that when we
start making the gravy they’re gonna
help thicken it all up so I’m gonna get
rid of our ramekins now how beautiful is
that now washing up job’s done I’m then
going to pop these in with our turkey
breasts just to keep nice and warm so
switch your ovens off at this point and
let everything kind of toast through
whilst that’s keeping warm pop your veg
on the hob on a medium heat that’s the
magic of these types of trays look at
those beautiful turkey juices at 500
mils of boiling water so loosen
everything up and tuck in a stock cube
or stock pot I’m using a chicken stock
cook this until it’s warm and a gorgeous
brown and that it’s time to serve under
an hour and I don’t know about you but I
can’t see any washing up oh I’d say I’d
say that’s gone well
