hello and welcome to top X where we
count down the very best that YouTube
has to offer
I’m your host Dan and today we’re
unwrapping something for parents and
youngsters but the top 10 toy unboxing
and surprising channels on YouTube
today we’ll be exploring those
inexplicably popular channels that are
all about unboxing toys or opening
chocolate eggs with toys in them if
you’ve never heard of these channels or
are baffled by the concept alone I’d say
it’s a safe bet that you do not have
kids
we based today’s picks mostly on
subscriber numbers but also factored in
monthly views votes from our users
personal preference and general impact
of the YouTube community number 10 toys
and funny kids surprise eggs kicking off
our list is toys and funny kids surprise
eggs often the channel likes to hint at
what they do with their name this is
definitely the case here there will be
toys and oh there will be surprise eggs
much like some of the other channels
we’ll see later today this is a great
channel for those of you or those of you
with kids that really like to binge
their videos often feature a huge amount
of surprise eggs in a single clip and at
least one or two clips go online every
day that’s a lot of little toys if
you’re a fan of one particular type of
toy character or brand of surprise egg
you’ll be happy to know that the channel
has been kindly divided into playlists
lastly it should be mentioned that there
is ZERO voiceover and zero host for
these clips making them suitable for all
language and age groups number 9 Disney
Cars toy club on the surface it may seem
like our number 9 pick is identical to
our number 10 pick but there are some
key differences here first and foremost
in these videos the hosts talk one of
the stated goals of the channel is to
help children develop strong social and
language skills and the clear
enthusiastic presentation of the hosts
really sells this idea he’s almost ready
to go crush some stuff whoa let’s get
his hands on this actually pretty much
all the strong points of the channel
stem from the hosts you’ll notice that
they clearly examine and demonstrate all
of the details and features of
everything they’re opening which not
only makes the videos more engaging to
watch but also makes them more
informative as well
our guy is mostly gray with black and he
has a purple weapon so let’s see we can
find him
there he is right lastly if the videos
are also kind of spruced up with a
little bit of fun whether it’s jokes
from the host or tiny little stop-motion
animations with the figures in question
a lot of effort is put in to make the
videos as entertaining to watch as
possible okay Oh George on your feet ah
I really need to teach you pigs how to
fly number eight
kids toys next up is the first channel
we’ve ever seen on topics that’s hosted
entirely by children at number 8 is the
fittingly named kids toys hey guys
welcome back to kids toys channel today
we are going to open this new frozen
magic right off the bat you should
notice that this channel is hosted by
two young girls this provides the bulk
of the charm for the videos because the
kids open and play with the toys in a
much more authentic and organic way than
an adult would also having kids as hosts
should help parents decide if the
products in question are good for their
kids watching a child try to assemble a
playset or follow the instructions for
an item gives you a pretty good idea of
how appropriate the toy would be for the
youngsters at home one thing that
probably goes without saying but should
be mentioned anyway is that this channel
is definitely a bit more girl oriented
although the girls use a huge variety of
toys even including nerf guns and giant
bugs they also review a heck of a lot of
toys that are marketed towards young
girls like dolls play houses and pretty
much everything to do with Disney’s
frozen
number seven Evon tube HD at number
seven we have another channel with
pint-sized hosts coming up next is Evan
tube HD hosted by Evan and Jillian sorry
I’m talking a little funny today because
I just phosphate soup right off the bat
you’ll notice that this channel isn’t
very well put together I’m guessing that
Evan and his sister have a little bit of
help from mom and dad in the tech
department because their channel looks
very professional after its way is
assembled the videos often include a
glamour shot of the item that really
helps you see it in detail to go along
with the graph you have homeless car
it also helps that Evan and Jillian are
really great hosts despite their young
age so here’s a closer look at the
brand-new Simon’s wait this is a cool
new memory from Hasbro gaming suck
Amanda fridge is a bit up but if you
have a good memory it’s fun to play it
anyway now I’m a pretty big fan of Lego
and nerf myself so I have to admit that
I got a fair amount of enjoyment from
some of these reviews or unboxing videos
the hosts usually go into a lot of
detail about the features of whatever
place that they’re looking at so that
coupled with the expert shooting style
of the videos makes for some
surprisingly comprehensive reviews maybe
I should me calculate the distance
number six baby big mouth so Lego and
nerf guns are cool
but if you really want to get views on
YouTube the real money is in surprise
eggs it’s something that this channel
knows very well and number six is baby
big mouth what on the surface is a very
simple channel devoted to opening
surprise eggs is actually spruced up a
bit with a bit of an educational slant
in a Sesame Street kind of style many of
the videos try to teach simple words or
concepts during the video something that
definitely lightens the appeal for
parents yes and what’s that spell
scissors another strong point about baby
big mouth is that they have a pretty
solid format and a pretty dependable
release schedule they release about one
video a day and each video is about 3 to
5 minutes long meaning that it’s easy to
check back on a daily basis for new
stuff but you’re never locked down for
too long
which is good for parents on a tight
schedule
number five surprise eggs unboxing toys
continuing in the trend channels with
self-explanatory titles here we have
surprise eggs unboxing toys at number
five
so I already mentioned earlier that the
real money on YouTube is in opening
surprise eggs so it should come as no
surprise that this channel opens up
boatload of eggs however the other thing
they really specialize in over here is
that lovable
non-toxic goop that you all know and
love
play-doh one thing you’ll notice about
this channel is that the host doesn’t
talk at all
this coupled with the fact that he or
she really plays with the play-doh makes
the video strangely soothing to watch
much like playing with play-doh yourself
number 4 surprise toys another Channel
another huge amount of surprise eggs
opening up an enormous amount of
chocolate surprise eggs is the
conspicuously named surprise toys all of
the channels we’re looking at today do
surprise eggs but this is one channel
that really emphasizes the tactile feel
of the whole thing the pop of the egg
the crunch of the foil the careful
perusing of the instructions it all
feels very participatory like you’re the
one opening the egg and building the
toilet I mentioned earlier that baby big
mouse videos are consistently pretty
short well these videos are consistently
very long ranging from about 10 minutes
to just under an hour they open a huge
amount of surprise eggs and some of
these eggs come from all over the world
like Japan
number three Disney cartoys sure lots of
channels have engaging hosts but how
many channels are co-hosted by
spider-man I thought so
and number three is Disney cartoys hello
everyone I’m Spanish awesome in a Sandra
and today we’re gonna open up this
beautiful Bert pinata Sandra and her
co-host Spidey open probably the largest
variety of toys that we’ve seen out of
any list today on top of that they
definitely published the most out of
everyone else with two to three videos a
day so that’s a lot of variety and a lot
of content this is a Hot Wheels Avengers
Assemble this is Hulk smash spin-out
yeah that’s awesome
that’s cool it’s cool sale looks like
the cars race down and then there’s like
a big Hulk and it goes oh that’s cool I
like yeah there is yeah that’s not to
say that their content is watered down
or simple the duo often performs little
skits with the toys in question making
their challenge to a sort of hybrid of a
children’s show for the digital age oh
we’re getting wet oh no wait a minute
we’re back toys do you like to get wet
number two blue collection toy collector
I hope you’re not sick of surprise eggs
cuz we got a whole lot more of them with
our next pick blue collection toy
collector or blue toys for short
this channel does a lot of things that
we’ve seen on other channels on top of
the eggs they review playsets and other
toys too they do a lot of play-doh
related content this is another channel
with multilingual appeal and so much
that there is not a lot of talking
involved in fact many of the videos
feature titles that are written in
multiple languages cuz you know everyone
likes surprise eggs or should I say who
have of saprissa before we get to our
number one spot here are a few honorable
mentions
number one fun toys collector if I were
to ask you what you thought the most
viewed YouTube channel in the world was
last week what would you pick
maybe Katy Perry’s VEVO channel maybe
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and their
YouTube skits or how about your you know
your big on YouTube so maybe your smart
money is on PewDiePie nope what if I
were to tell you that all of those
high-end channels that let’s play
channels the multi-million dollar
musical acts were no match for one
lady’s hands playing with toys oh we
just got a payee hate to do this to my
little bros out there but unfortunately
our number one pick is definitely geared
towards girls for example if you look at
their playlist the Play Doh for girls
list has 160 videos and the Play Doh for
boys has about 6
again on the surface this may look a lot
like a lot of the other channels we’ve
seen today but you can always tell the
toys video by the charming voice of the
host and the cool nails and accessories
that she always has both of which serve
as her trademarks well that’s it for our
countdown by now I’m sure you’re just as
confused as I was when I wrote this
thing anyway be sure to check us out on
Facebook Instagram and Twitter be sure
to vote on future lists on our suggest
page and for more great top 10s
