number 10 Captain Planet and the
Planeteers our world is in peril Gaia
the Spirit of the earth can no longer
stand the terrible destruction plaguing
our planet Captain Planet begins with a
spoken word intro to the team and the
problems they face but it’s the song
that plays over the end credits that’s
still one of our faves I am captain
poetic it talks about the powers of
Earth’s fire wind water and heart with
some rap thrown in for good measure
preachy and maybe but will be damned if
this show didn’t inspire a generation of
recyclers number nine SpongeBob
SquarePants
whether you’re young or young at heart
there’s a good chance you’ve heard this
cartoon theme sung by painty the pirate
with help from a bunch of kids the song
acquaints us with our four-cornered
friend conceived by the creators as the
most annoying song they could come up
with it’s exactly the kind of tune kids
will go wild for and drive their parents
nutty in the process
number eight
transformers long before Michael Bay got
his hands on this franchise there was a
little Saturday morning cartoon that
packed a big punch and its theme song
was just as epic explaining the battle
between the Autobots and the Decepticons

this theme song does that and leaves
room for plenty of 80s laser sound
effects they even let the robot sing a
few bars
number seven Inspector Gadget spooky
kooky and catchy as they come the
Inspector Gadget theme is recognizable
even to those who didn’t watch the show
based on a classical advert grid
