How to Make Pigs in a Blanket: Recipe

what is it about bite-sized food that
makes it so irresistible hi I’m Rebecca
Brayton and welcome to watchmojo.com and
today I’ll be showing you how to make
your very own pigs in a blanket
for this recipe you’ll need about two
pounds of mini hot dogs 1 large egg
all-purpose flour for your work surface
one box of thawed frozen puff pastry and
optional cheddar cheese cut into small
pieces and optional also Dijon mustard
the first step is to prepare your pigs
for their blanket if you’re using the
cheese cut your hotdogs lengthwise about
3/4 of the way through and place a piece
of cheese in the opening if you’re not
using the cheese just poke a few holes
in the hotdog with the tip of a knife
now on a lightly floured work surface
roll your puff pastry into a 14 by 11
inch rectangle
cut your puff pastry into seven equal
strips measuring about an inch and a
half wide then cut those into rectangles
that measure about three and a half
inches in length
if you’re using the D gel for a little
extra kick you would do that now just
place a little dollop in the middle of
each of your puff pastry strips
take your egg and beat it together with
about a tablespoon of water and set it
aside now to roll your pigs place one
hot dog at the narrow end of one of your
puff pastry strips and roll it seal the
ends with a little bit of egg wash
when all your pigs are wrecked brush the
top of each with the egg wash and then
place them on a cookie sheet covered in
parchment paper and let them chill in
the fridge for 15 minutes
now bake them in a 450 degree oven for
about 20 minutes or until they’re
golden-brown and slightly puffy these
tasty treats are a great appetizer for
your next casual party or sports
gathering and can be served with mustard
ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce
