we’re a big crew were a big cast were
lots of extras were big locations were
big sets were trying to be epic about it
at the same time at the heart of it is
really a very true human story and we’re
trying to we’re trying to peel behind
the layers of what’s often been seen
before to Jesus to get the man and
really get a sense of the man in his
relationships with with both his
disciples but also with his family and
the others around him it’s a real
challenge you know we we have we have 93
cast we have four and half thousand
extras we’ve got 250 crew on set every
day there’s some really big set pieces
coming up which we’re trying to prepare
for we have the crucifixion and the
approach want to take to that again
bringing this off into city to which I
don’t think has been seen before and we
have the big scenes out on the Sea of
Galilee with boats and all the safely
and challenges that that entails we have
people standing in rivers up to their
necks but ultimately I think the most
important decision that was taken on
this project was to try and be authentic
and so often you see a white Jesus and
why disciples and and it’s all very tidy
and clean and holy and now what we
wanted to do here was get some real
authenticity Jesus was a middle-eastern
man he was dirty there were flies there
was sickness there was ill health there
was a lot of violence was blood and it
was busy it was grimy and we wanted to
introduce some of that which item feels
ever really been seen before I think
with some very brave casting decisions
taken us fulfill my think house is a
fantastic Jesus he’s he’s he’s he brings
so much passion he’s a very spiritual
person himself anyway and he brings out
to his performance
