Interview With KoRn on Their Career

they’re twisted post-grunge sound has
won them two Grammys and helped them to
sell over 30 million albums hi I’m
Stephanie and welcome to watchmojo.com
and today we’re speaking to corn
I’m monkey from the bank horn guitarist
in ray luzier a little heed reversed Oh
like that leave our least lead drummers
horn has been a band for almost 20 years
now so obviously you guys have
progressed from that time what kind of
band would you say you guys were back
then when you started out versus the
kind of band that you are now we had
mentalities you know corn or die sort of
that was our whole life I think now that
we’re older where families you know live
a life outside of the band but when
we’re together and we’re writing music
or we’re onstage it’s still that that
feeling of this is what we’re here we’re
gonna give a hundred ten percent no
matter what it is if we’re in the studio
or for an on-stage the passion still
there just you wear different hats now
you know just like monkey hat gonna go
home and put on the dad hat there’s been
a you know if you line up changes within
Korn and also some of the members have
solo projects how does that affect the
band dynamic the whole side project
started you know Jonathan went on the
solo tour maybe he was sick of us I
don’t know you know while he was gone as
sort of the weakest kind of SAT around
and got bored and when you’re a creative
person you go crazy you have to you have
to have some sort of outlet
you
how’s it save anything Prime makes it
stronger we all have music in a cinema
guitar and bass hack you know I’ve right
in my studio at home and his solo band
fear in the nervous systems sounds
nothing like John’s van field he’s got
Stillwell three completely different
things you know but they all it’s what’s
inside them or what they’re feeling and
hearing at that time and I don’t think
it affects the corn at all
and now that your corns only guitars do
you find it a challenge to have to put
all the guitar parts into one this is my
third record recording all the guitar
stuff so I’ve had some practice at it I
like it it’s a challenge gives me a
chance to be in the studio that much
more that’s where I feel comfortable I
feel comfortable in the studio and I
feel comfortable on stage the rest of my
life I feel uncomfortable in and it is
this guy’s got great here he can hear
melodies and structures so having rain
the band’s helped me a lot on this
record you know cuz you know you’ll hear
something and if it’s not right try
something else I I’d have no problem
turning to any one of the dudes and
saying what do you think about this and
if you don’t like it we’ll try something
else just let the ego go and you know we
want to make the best songs we can as a
van
