Tattoo Convention: Lark Tattoo

hi I’m at the International tattoo
festival with Jimbo from lark tattoos
was the first tattoo that you ever got
the first touch where ever got was
actually the first tattoo ever did okay
yeah it was only 17 when I started and
where we’re from in the u.s. you have to
be 18 to get tattooed and I don’t know I
just I always kind of wanted to draw for
a living you know so tattoos just seemed
like a good idea and you know you really
can’t practice on other people I guess
when you first start this is not easy it
was the first person that you tattoo the
first customer that you tattoo be scared
or nervous oh yeah my hands were shaking
like this I was lucky that was my
brother so how many people did you
tattoo before you really got comfortable
probably 40 50 tattooing is all
confidence and experience so it takes a
bit and that you learn how to draw first
and then apply to tattooing or did you
learn kind of both of the same time I
can always draw this isn’t something I
feel you should do if you’re not
naturally
good drawer I don’t think it’s something
you really can learn what would you say
is the most usual tattoo or the kind of
predominant theme in tattooing right now
these days nautical stars are very
popular rib pieces these days to it used
to be you know few years ago was all
girls with lower backs back in the day
no is all calves and arms these days it
seems to be ribs I don’t get it because
that hurts that’s what I heard it’s me
careful two ribs hurt kids to get their
first tattoo they don’t know what
they’re getting into you know
